Read moreWith a reservation made in advance we still had to wait a good minute to be seated. The table was being wiped and tidied while we were seated at it. Our waiter was great and I have no complaints about him, but the management was completely incompetent. I have complaints about whomever cooked my steak as well. My friends and I had gathered in celebration of a very beloved coworker and friend's birthday. All they offer is a scoop of vanilla ice cream so we opted to pay for cheesecake. Our food took forever to arrive, again at no fault of the waiter who checked on us constantly, and even when it did I was hit with disappointment. Over seasoned steak cooked medium on one half while rare on the other. When I asked for medium rare this is not what I had in mind. We are not foriegn to an alcoholic drink nor the laws of such at a restaurant. In all of our drinks, especially the long island iced tea, no booze could be tasted. Upon complaining a manager attempted to persuade us that they put what they are legally allowed. Which was utter bull. Of a drink consisting of 4 different alcohols, and 8 ounce drink should have tasted of it. I highly doubt that the alcohols used would have made up the legal percentage, especially when the booze was likely low percentage. The manager offered to put less flavor into a remade version. After some persuasion we agreed to try it. No difference. No discount. No buzz. Charged for both drinks. $14 without the taxes. I could have bought sky vodka and enjoyed drinking it dry rather than be put through the unsatisfactory event the managers displayed of offering to pay out of pocket. The bluff was atrocious, knowing we have no interest in making a scene over a friend's birthday for a couple drinks. They also insisted that they couldn't legally
This is a great place! I cannot say enough about one particular employee, I believe his name was Stacey, great server with long hair. Wow he was probably the best waiter I've ever had! Very understanding, and top notch quality of taking care of us. He deserves a major promotion! Also the food is very nice and the decor works well with the theme. Overall a great place to be. My recommendations are to dine here anytime. I don't usually like onions but their blooming onion appetizer is actually pretty good. I love eating ribs and fries here :)
I've also had a chicken lunch special dish that I loved!
On a later edit...here's a restaRANT that changed my rating from 5 to 3 my mom was gravely disrespected by a female employee (I think she said she was the manager of all people). After being served a tough steak that literally hurt her wrist to cut into she explained kindly to this woman. Not to take her steak back, (even though in my opinion she deserved it) not wanting to waste anything, that their knives are not very good there and they might consider getting some new ones. The steak itself way pretty dry. This lady went off on her, and also called her old to boot by saying "well we have knives for old people". how rude. My mom isn't very old, she's an excellent cook and can cook a good stake on her own any day without going to a restaurant for it. I don't know what kind of day that lady, or even the cook, was having and maybe we're just used to Cutco quality knives, but my mom was really honestly quite nice about things and this lady lit into her about politely bringing a concern up. Not good customer service. She hadn't gone back for a year until receiving a gift card.
I guess moral of the story is maybe that every restaurant employee has an off day (it's not like they don't have a choice still), so take the risk or don't speak up if you want to eat here. However if you're paying as much as it costs here for the same dinner you can have at home the customer service and satisfaction guaranteed is something these folks should pay more attention to. Or else they'll loose a years worth of business and who knows how much more from...
Read moreI'm not one to give bad reviews unless the place really earned it. Sadly, this place is off our list of places to eat in St George. To start, it's filthy. I wish the two pictures I included could tell the whole story. There wasn't a spot on the floor that didn't have food, napkins and wrappers from straws strewn about. And to make things worse, the employees walked right through it all without any effort to clean it up. There were several open tables but almost all of them still needed to be cleared or wiped down. Imagine what the kitchen must look like. How does this place even pass health inspections??
The person who seated us obviously doesn't like her job; lots of heavy sighs and an apathetic attitude to customers.
My wife ordered steak (medium) and lobster. I ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger (medium). They forgot her lobster and overcooked her steak and my cheeseburger. They said 4-5 minutes to bring another properly cooked steak. The rest of the party was almost done eating by the time it arrived. It took a reminder to get the lobster.
And no, I'm not just piling on the negativity. It truly was that bad. Unfortunately this wasn't a one-time incident. The last time we ate there, my steak was bloody rare, so uncooked it was purple. I requested medium. They took it back and returned with yet another bloody rare steak. A third time and it was charred on the outside yet still rare. One final time and it was well-done and charred. I almost believe the cook had it with me. I didn't eat it and they asked if I wanted it removed from the bill. Yes, of course I do.
We love Outback, just not the one here...
