When this place was Roy's pizza the Calzones were one of my favorite things to eat anywhere and the price of the Calzones vs the Pizza was great as well. I went in right after the change to Slice House to get a Calzone and happened to meet the owner. I asked what the difference from Roy's was and he said it's mostly the same but with a few recipe tweaks. I ordered my usual pepperoni and olive calzone and it did not disappoint. However, a few months later I ordered the same thing and couldn't believe how bad it was. It appears that something with both the calzone and the marina had changed and something actually tasted like soa]...and was definitely not as flavorful. I was very disappointed. I waited another 6 months or so and finally decided to try it out again to see if I just got a bad batch the time before. Nope. Still tasted like soap and not nearly as flavorful as when it was Roy's. Very disappointed. Not sure how much the recipe changed but it's enough to where I won't be back...
Read moreSlice house is about the average middle of the pack when it comes to Slice Pizza joints in Utah. Not bad, but unfortunately nothing on the elevated side. It will get a 3.1/5 for me. Not quite putting my finger on the overall 4.5 on Google, but maybe the Calzones and whole specialty pies are better? This will be a classic slice-only review.
We were lucky enough to get a fresh slice out of the oven, so it is an honest review! Dough is pretty solid, good flavor! The sauce was unfortunately pretty scarce, but had some good flavor, wish it had a little more on there. The cheese and pepperoni however are just greasy and the flavors aren't there. I really do hate comparing it to anything, but in the end it tasted like an above-average Costco Pizza on the first couple of bites. It does taste good and fresh throughout the whole slice though unlike Costco. Not terrible overall, but there are better joints for sure, especially for a $5 slice. If it was a $3 slice I...
Read moreSlice house… what IS THIS?? I got super excited seeing the sign out front seeing a pizza place I haven’t tried and then thinking that Slice house would sell pizza slices. Crazy right? But when I got in I was told that’s only for lunch. Ok ok, disappointing but I’ll live. So I proceeded to pay $10 for a 10” pizza. For that price I’m expecting something, idk… good? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened the box to see this gas station looking, premade crust looking, lunchables pizza. I mean what is this guys?! Despite it looking bad, I hoped it would at least taste good. One bit, everyone knows the rules. BRO! It tasted so bad too😭 Like little Caesars crust with worse sauce and cheese. 0.3 out of 10. SOOO disappointing guys! Take some pride in your pizza! Maverik’s gas station pizza is better than this!
Who knows. Maybe I caught them on a bad day and just got a bad pizza but seeing zero customers in there at 5pm is telling me that...
