I cannot post a picture of the ring because I have not proposed yet. But in anticipation of proposing I emailed Tom and Yvonne about one desing that happened to be made in a few different ways. After three or four emails I felt that the design and colors they sent me were perfect. Of course for an engagement ring being made 8 hours away I felt that I wanted to have her sized by the store it came from and I wanted to see it and make sure it was what I wanted first. The reason we drove 8 hours to visit Yvonne and Tom, was the design of the ring. I have never seen and continue to not see anything like it, even on the internet. In fact they have alot of ingenous designs. Another plus to making that trip was that my girlfriend was able to meet the designer of her ring. When you visit your local cookie cutter mall store you definitely don't get that experience. And with a piece of jewelry you are going to wear the rest of your life, it's pretty nice to know that such a wonderful person made it. So we finally arrived in St. Ignace which is unbelieveably beautiful. The sights alone were worth the trip. When I walked in Tom and Yvonne greeted me and showed me how to size a ring. Unsure of myself, Yvonne grabbed the tool to size and ent out to the car and sized my girlfriends finger. Then we looked at the different designs and carat sizes and figured out exactly what I wanted. After I said "That's it. Thats the right one." Yvonne pulled an already wrapped box out of the display case and opened it. There sat the exact design with the exact stone and the exact size that I wanted. She created the perfect ring for me based on only a few emails. The center stone needed to be an exact color and she also matched it exactly without even speaking to me. The next ste was to take care of business and I have to say I was beyond pleased with the price. They also made special arrangements for me to use my AMEX card, which they don't normally accept. I not only was able to charge the purchase but I got my points too! After we took care of business Yvonne pulled that specific line of jewelry out of the case and even removed giant framed pictures from the wall so my girlfreind could come in and see some of her work without giving away the ring. Tom and Yvonne spent two hours with us and at least one hour after they closed just showing us her designs and sharing stories and great information about the area. Susequently based on that visit we are already preparing to book a summer vacation to St. Ignace. I can tell you Yvonnes designs are just like Tom, one of a kind. They are all so beautiful and creative. We spent the trip home discussing how amazing a visit that was and how regardless of what the ring is she is so happy to know that her ring was made from someone so great. We definitely feel like we met some friends to visit next time we visit the U.P. and I can tell you I already have My girlfriends birthday present picked out.

There has never been a time that I haven’t enjoyed my visit to the Gold Mine. Friendly staff, beautiful and versatile products. I love buying gifts there and I appreciate the sales that often pop up. My most recent purchase was two rings from the Northern collection. They are silver and black bands that show the UP emblem surrounded by stars. My spouse and I now wear them to commemorate our first year of moving here full time to this beautiful town of Saint Ignace. We have received many compliments on our new rings. Lastly, I am always warmly greeted and made to feel welcome whether I’m just browsing or buying something. It’s appreciated. I recently purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend of 7years from here and couldn't be happier.We wondered in during the car show this year and was browsing threw the shop when my girlfriend spotted the ring.After we left that day I thought about "why not" it'ds been long enough so I reached out ot Gold Mine by phone and discussed them finding a Diamond to fit.And they sure did an excellent job of selecting the stone it is wonderful!We live 4hours away from them but they were so accommodating that it seamed like no trouble at all.I could not find a better value anywhere in the area I live and the quality and service could not have been better.The ring is amazing and my fiance could not be happier! :) Thanks Gold Mine....
