Five Guys — Restaurant in Saint Louis Park

I recently was visiting the cities, and searched what was near for food. This place popped up, and i figured I'd give it a try, as word of mouth for the chain was positive. I can see the appeal. For myself, the burger was, of course very fresh, not greasy(good thing) and cooked well. It was also completely bland. Even the bacon added nothing to the flavor. That might work perfectly if you prefer plain or just the salt pepper and ketchup route. I liked the soda machine with all of the mixing options.

Everyone I saw there looked very much to be enjoying their meals. The peanuts were an interesting diversion to the waiting time. It just didn't click for me overall, though.

There are no combos, the items are a la carte. That's neither here nor there. The burger alone being equal to or more than the price of a full combo at most other places was a bit of a shock, but I went ahead with it as I'd heard good things.

Staff was unremarkable, which is just fine by my preferences.

I would have been disappointed with the taste, but just went on with my life. Google asked me how it was, and it gave me a good reason to revisit and vent my frustration at spending 20+ dollars for a bland burger.

If you have fond memories, the atmosphere will be enough for you. If you're a newcomer, go into it with more info than I had, hopefully. Caveat...

Five guys as a company? Go them. They are great. This Five Guys? Hard pass. It is always clear at this location that one person knows what they are doing and everyone else is clueless. They end up having one person doing everything and they can't keep up because they are one person against a line of people. This order they forgot half of the items on my sandwich because they forgot to make a delivery order, put all my stuff that was meant for my burger on their burger, and then let my burger sit out and get cold over 10 minutes instead of putting it on the grill or giving me a new patty. This wasn't the guy cooking the burger's fault, he was cooking 10+ burgers while the girl at the front kept trying to make jokes with the staff (and they were confused) and the guy at the fry station can't manage to shake cajun seasoning on some fries before spilling them in my bag. This isn't normal 5 guys "there's fries everywhere in my bag." This was he barely filled a small cup, and then put it in the bag upside down. Nobody could get their orders because nobody could understand him (including the other people working). It was like he tried to pierce his tongue himself and couldn't enunciate anything. Told him my food was wrong and all he said was "have a nice day." Had to have been stoned out...

I ordered online about 8 minutes before I got there to save time.... well, that went poorly. When I got there, not a person was in line. As I waited 10 minutes, about 15 people (one group of 5) came in after me and ordered food at the counter. Every one of them got their food before me. Long story short, I waited almost 30 min for food since time of order. I could have gotten quicker food if I just ordered there. I also asked them when my food would be ready after about 20 minutes total and she told me my order was next. It wasn't. In fact, my burgers were just getting thrown on the grill. Total nonsense. When I finally got my food, the fries were cold. Burger was fresh as it always is. Total disappointment. I will probably not be back. Gave 2 stars because burger was good...
