I've been ordering from this JJ's store for several years. It's one of the only places near my job that are open past 4pm. I've always had pretty good experiences with them, until tonight.
I placed my usual order (#13 - Jimmy Cubano), which I have saved through my JJ's account at 4:39PM. I received a notification that the store received my order at 4:41PM. My driver arrived shortly before 5PM. All seemed well, and pretty fast for heading into the dinner hour.
I opened my order, and my sandwich was completely not what I had ordered. I double-checked my receipt, to see if I had made a mistake in ordering, but I had not. The sandwich I received contained less than half of the ingredients it should have had, and also had tomatoes on it. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I could not have eaten this sandwich, otherwise I would have just sucked it up. The sandwich I ordered does not come with tomatoes in the first place, which is the main reason I order it.
I called the store back, and they told me they would re-make the sandwich correctly and send it back out. Nearly an hour later, a driver arrived to deliver the replacement. Again, I opened the sandwich to find that it was both the incorrect sandwich, and had tomatoes on it.
I called yet again, and asked for the manager. He was friendly, and after I explained the situation, offered to make the sandwich again personally, and send it out to be delivered ASAP. I agreed, and apologized for being "that person". I don't want to make people's lives more difficult, especially people in food service.
Finally, at around 7:15PM, I received what was now sandwich #3. The manager included a cookie this time, "for my trouble" according to the driver. I opened my sandwich, expecting that since the manager had said he was going to make it himself, it would finally be correct. I was shocked to see that when I opened it, it was identical to the one before it, although it was missing the tomatoes this time.
While I was physically able to eat what was given to me the third time, I still have not received my original order. I don't understand how a simple sandwich order can be so difficult to execute. I waited nearly 3 hours for one sandwich, and decided to just give up trying to get them to make it right. I'm very disappointed in this experience with what used to be a pretty reliable dinner spot. I spent nearly $30 on a drink, a side, a dessert, and a sandwich I...
Read moreThis is my favorite location I go there daily and it's always busy. One last Thursday 05/09/19 I came in sat down and watched (it's easy enough I can work from anywhere) also because they were EXTREMELY BUSY. I watched as I assume their back line is for delivery crank out 3 platters 2 24 boxes of mini Jimmy's and many many many sandwiches and unwiches as the front line worked on people in the store and helped the back line when they could. I have two favorite people to watch (it sounds creepy I know) but it's because they are amazing at what they do. The young lady on the front line who always makes the store sandwiches is fast and efficient great at what she does. And the other woman who is African American is always so polite I have never been in this store and not see her move from one point to the next she is helping one of the two lines answering phones at the register back to sandwiches ends up back on phones and so on and so forth and she does it with a smile. I have heard her de-escalate situations on the phone like a pro she is simply amazing and so positive. Most of you who have complaints aren't aware of what actually is happening in this particular store. I have seen drivers leave out with no less that 6 deliveries at a time. Your complaints are not valid. If you ever come into this location it is not like any of the others who have the option of being freaky fast but aren't. This location more often than not does not have that option due to the high demand at lunch time in and outside the store. If it's that big of a deal to get your food on time than put your order in the day/night before (which have priority I speak from experience). Just be aware you all work in enclosed spaces while these young people cater to your needs and screwed up attitudes and they do it with grace and pride and not only that this location gets busy as soon as the doors open. And also why would you expect them to deliver to you if they aren't the store that delivers to you? Pizza Hut won't even do that so that complaint is absolutely invalid. You young people keep up the good work obviously these complaints do not stop the business from booming. I definitely appreciate your great skills and wonderful...
Read moreI love Jimmy John's sandwiches and the service I got in the past, as well as the service I experience at the other downtown store in the skyway of the St. Paul Doubletree Hotel center (formerly located at 7th Place between Bruegger's Bagels and Walgreen's drug). I usually order online from this location and get my order within 10-15 minutes, and the drivers have always been courteous.
Today I ordered two sandwiches by phone to this store at 11:53 a.m. and paid by credit card. Given the fast service I'd always experienced prior to today, I was very surprised to still be waiting after 30 minutes, and I needed to be somewhere...so I called the store in question about 12:30 p.m. asking about the status of my order. The person answering the phone (the manager) told me the driver left with more orders that she 'wasn't supposed to take with her' (his words) and said she should be on her way. It's not really my business about what your employee is doing wrong, just tell me when I can expect the service I paid for.
My order arrived at 12:47 p.m. (almost an hour later), and when I answered the door, the driver waved the receipt at me and said "I need your signature." No apology for being super-late, not even a 'hello', or 'thanks' even. I asked her nicely if she knew why she was an hour late, she shrugged her shoulders and said "We're busy" and then stomped off before I could respond. I know it can get busy, but I was startled by her attitude and lack of courtesy and thought it was completely rude of both the management and the driver to be so cavalier.
I like ordering JJs online because I think it's convenient, plus I presume it helps the store get my order more easily in queue for them to handle it in a timely manner. I only called today since I wanted to use a credit (from a past item forgotten but paid for) I received from a previous order. I will order again from them but only online, as I have not had a problem with that in the past. If they screw that up, I will find another location to try, since I really enjoy this food, and because the other stores I've patronized have had nothing but fast, smart, and...
