So disappointing…
I had been looking forward to eating here for over a year, especially after all the hurricanes, but unfortunately our experience was not a good one. Parking was a nightmare to start, and the restaurant seemed understaffed. Once we were seated, no one brought menus until I finally reminded them, and then they forget about us and didn’t take our order until I went to tell them we were ready. Then they forgot our drink and when our food finally came, it was wrong and underwhelming. I ordered the eggs in a pan “over easy” with a side of bacon, but they came scrambled—and they forgot my side of bacon. The food itself was bland and tasteless, even after adding a lot of salt. I was taking my daugher out to celebrate making honor roll and her kids’ French toast was soggy and she barely touched it. It ended up not being the special treat I had hoped for sadly. I really wanted to love this place after hearing so many great things, but the food and service just didn’t live up to the hype—especially at $15 for a tasteless plate of eggs and potatoes not even prepared as I ordered and missing part of the order. We ended up just paying and leaving most of our food there in the styrofoam boxes they served it in. I’m giving 2 stars, which is generous, only because I understand how hard the storms have been on local businesses, but I truly hope they can get back to the level everyone raves about.

Tucked away in the heart of St. Pete Beach, The Frog Pond is the kind of hidden gem every traveler hopes to stumble upon. From the moment we sat down, it was clear why locals and vacationers alike rave about this spot—it’s casual, welcoming, and unapologetically generous with its portions. The breakfast here was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had. Plates arrive quickly, heaping with food that’s not only plentiful but surprisingly well-priced. Let’s talk about the bacon 🥓—perfectly crisp, smoky, and honestly divine. My honey went for the Spanish Omelette, and I’ve never seen someone rave about eggs with such enthusiasm. Every bite looked so good that we didn’t even pause for photos (a food blogger’s ultimate compliment). We grabbed a cozy booth inside, where the atmosphere was lively but never rushed. Our server, Daniel, struck the perfect balance of laid-back beach vibes and attentive service. He knew the menu inside out, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made us feel right at home. If you visit, do yourself a favor and ask for Daniel—he’ll elevate your experience. 🌴 Bottom line: The Frog Pond delivers hearty, flavorful comfort food at lightning speed with a side of true beach-town hospitality. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a must-stop breakfast spot in St. Pete Beach.

So happy the Frog Pond is back!!!!! We had a wonderful meal! Eggs in the Pan 10/10 French toast 10/10! Cheese omelette was another 10/10! The side dishes portions were plenty as well! Love how they kept the previous menu with some good additions! Also , like that they have a different coffee now… Kahwa. Erika was our waitress and she was beyond stellar and was so kind & attentive. Portions were substantial and same as before. Love the new space and got to talk to Raymond the owner as well also very kind and really cared about our experience and has a great vision for the space. Highly recommend! Stop in! It’s worth it!!!! So glad they’re back!!!! Make the trip and go and then keep going! Support local!!!!
