A Cosmic Encounter with Shane at The Toasted Monkey You think you've had a good cocktail? You haven't lived until you've been served by Shane, the liquid alchemist behind the bar at The Toasted Monkey. We walked in, sun-drenched and thirsty, and were met not by a host, but by a force of nature. Shane, a whirlwind of energy with a grin that could power a small city, greeted us with a booming "WELCOME, EARTHLINGS!" and didn't so much pour our drinks as he composed them, each shake of the cocktail shaker sounding like a sonic boom.

The menu was a blur, but Shane was our north star. I said I was craving something tangy, and before the words were fully out of my mouth, he was juggling shakers like a cosmic acrobat. He didn't just mix a drink; he channeled it. A glass of "The Rock's Rita" materialized, its lime-green liquid swirling like a tiny galaxy, humming a low frequency that made us feel impossibly relaxed. My friend, who was just looking for a beer, watched as Shane ceremoniously placed a coaster in front of him, and the beer bottle appeared on it with a satisfying fwoosh of condensation.

The drinks were a blur of flavors so intense they awakened forgotten memories. My margarita tasted like a perfect sunset, a long-lost dream, and the triumphant cheer of a winning sports team all at once. And Shane? He was everywhere. He delivered refills before our glasses were half empty, appeared with extra napkins before we could spill, and even stopped a rogue seagull with a single, perfectly aimed glare. I swear, he levitated for a brief moment to adjust the bar's wobbly leg. He didn't just work there; he was a living, breathing extension of the restaurant's very soul.

By the time we left, we felt not just hydrated, but enlightened. Shane had done more than mix our drinks; he had elevated us. Our bill arrived folded into the shape of a tiny origami monkey that, when opened, played a personalized, three-second ukulele tune. If you're looking for a drink, go anywhere. But if you're looking for an unforgettable, borderline spiritual experience, go to The Toasted Monkey and ask for Shane. You won't just leave with a full belly—you'll leave with a story you'll be telling for the rest...

I love this place so much! After a night of drinking we found ourselves starving and in our search at for late night food found this spot. When we pulled up there was a large party going on and the scene seemed very “clubbish” so I assumed we were gonna be munching on chicken fingers and nachos. How wrong was! We ordered some kind of Asain pork lettuce wraps as an app. I was expecting 5 or 6 bite sized pieces of something mediocre and when the plate got there was shocked at how much there was. Then I ate one, holy sh*t, are you kidding they were fantastic and filling. Then our crunch bowl arrived and my taste buds didn’t know what hit them I was blown away by how many different flavors and textures were going on, my taste buds were so happy! I couldn’t believe such good food came from that “club” scene we pulled up to.

For the establishment itself, we didn’t venture too far in, our partying was over for the night but it looked so much! There was a DJ spinning fun classic 80/90s dance music and had a great time watch the drunk people dance. Our server Christy was amazing! She was full of energy even at the end of her shift. She was fun, patient and knowledgeable. And she cared, you could tell she cared about her job and took pride in her work. She was on the ball, never asked for a refill it was just there. Never needed napkins she had already brought more, clean silverware and plates between courses. She just paid attention to the small details that no one else seems to anymore unless you’re at a fancy high end place.

Our experience was so great that I think we are going back today for a late lunch or early dinner. We’re only here for 2 days (6 meals) but we loved the place so much that we need one of our last to be...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I can't help but sing its praises! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warmth and exceptional service. The staff, including a friendly employee named Jimmy, went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of amazing.

What truly impressed me was how considerate the waiter and another employee named Jimmy was towards my furry friend. Not only did he welcome my dog with open arms, but he even offered him a delicious treat.

Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the coconut shrimp, it was absolutely good!

To complement my meal, I decided to indulge in an alcoholic beverage, and I was not disappointed. The drink was expertly crafted, with just the right balance of flavors to tantalize my taste buds. It was the perfect accompaniment to the coconut shrimp and added an extra layer of enjoyment to my dining experience.

In addition to the incredible food and drinks, the ambiance of the restaurant was enchanting. The decor was tasteful and inviting, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The attention to detail was evident, and it made me feel like I had stepped into a hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my time at this restaurant. The outstanding service, the delectable coconut shrimp, and the delightful alcoholic beverage all combined to create a truly memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional culinary adventure, and I'm certain that Jimmy will be there to welcome you with a friendly smile and a treat for your...

Beautiful location with stunning views and convenient free parking nearby – loved the two-story setup overlooking the water. The service was genuinely great – our server was friendly, attentive, and even seemed upset when we mentioned the food didn’t quite hit the mark. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. The mahi plate came with one small slice of fish and a scoop of spicy fried rice for $24 – definitely not worth it, especially being right on the ocean. The rice was so spicy it overwhelmed everything else; a sauce on the side would’ve been a much better call. It made the rest of the meal taste like nothing in comparison. The Tuna Bowl was another miss – the rice was super dry (almost felt undercooked), and the sauce didn’t match the tuna at all. I’m a big fan of poke bowls, but this one just didn’t come together. The only real bright spot was the Ahi Tuna starter. For $15 you get 12 slices so thin they were basically see-through – like parchment paper – and they tore when trying to lift them with a fork. But the tuna was fresh and delicious, no complaints on flavor. Overall: gorgeous place and great service, but the food really needs a rethink to match the setting.

Six of us were looking forward to trying the new location for lunch. Ample free parking, comfortable roomy seating, and beautiful upstairs deck with a great view didn't disappoint. The wings came out as ordered, the peel and eat shrimp were tasty, the fish sandwich and rueben were both delicious. The onion rings were prepared nicely although our order had all huge onions unlike the smaller ones we saw come out at the table next us. The hot food was delivered hot and in a timely fashion. The menu is well thought out and priced well. Th alcohol is expensive (canned beer and weak drinks). Our tab was approximately $160! The disappointment. Although the music was good it was so loud it made conversation impossible. Asked the server if she could request the volume to be lowered a bit and was told emphatically NO -- that we could ask the guy to lower the sound if we wanted but she couldn't. As mentioned, six of us went in together for lunch, cocktails and to catch up. Probably will go back again and sit on the deck but not with a group.
