Recently visited after a beach trip this past Saturday. Saw good reviews for this place so thought we’d give it a shot! We also were celebrating a birthday and noticed on the menu that birthdays were accommodating. Right away, It took 5+ minutes to even acknowledge us. She sat a group before us and then came back and studied her paper for a few minutes before finally saying hello. I work as a server and I always at least acknowledge someone and let them I’ll be with them as soon as possible. After she sat us, we waited 20 minutes with not a single greeting by a server, even though there were tables being tended to by other servers. I finally got up and politely asked the host if she could send over some waters, she said “oh let me get someone”. After another 10 minutes, a younger girl came up to us and didn’t give us her name just said “ Sorry our host forgot to tell someone that y’all were seated” and then she asked what we’d like to drink, we responded and ordered our appetizers and meals as well because by that point we had been there for half an hour. I was taken aback by her blame on the host, as i said, I’m a server. And a host’ mistake or not, just apologize and try to make the experience better from there. She left after we ordered and then we waited another almost 20 minutes before she brought out our appetizers, I kindly asked for our drinks, again. After 10 minutes she came with the drinks. Not a single apology or anything for any of the mistakes. I know people have off days, I’ve had some myself as a server, but I will always make sure the customer feels validated in their needs and gets what they came for. Once the food came after another 15 minutes, I was starved and I looked down to see burnt shrimp. I figured maybe it’s the batter they use? So I tried one, and It was definitely burnt, yet my fries were ice cold? The waitress didn’t come back for 15 minutes to check if we liked our food, I told her mine was burnt and she said “Do you want something else?” And I told her I didn’t because by that point, I was fed up and we had been there way longer than anticipated due to the waits on the food and drink. We didn’t even ever have a chance to ask about the birthday dessert. All in all, we left still kinda hungry and very...
Read moreI don't usually like leaving reviews but because of my experience here today, I will. Coming here to check out this place thought would be really nice especially the location. I walked in here and at first I've asked the host April if there's any table outside available and since I'm all by myself. But because it's lunch rush hour, I understand no table available so April assigned me to one of the corner table inside. I first ordered my appetizers to start of. As the time goes by, table from outside patio becomes more available. I've asked April again politely if it's possible to move because I feel bad taking the big table were for sure they can use it for a bigger group. I am pretty much just wanting to accommodate. And her response was so unbelievable! She get back with me like she is not sure and said to me " You can't just be asking moving around especially that you already ordered your food, like im all done. Mind you!! I was not even done at all. That was just an appetizers to start of and wanting to order that Mahi-mahi. But instead, you assumed that I am done. I get it you obviously having a bad day or maybe not enjoying ur job or really super rude! While here I am trying to be polite asking you nicely. She already gave me this bad vibes as soon as I walked in. But i didn't take it personally in the beginning as again everyone can have a bad day. Will never ever come back here again and will not...
Read moreWe came to The Wharf for some food and drinks. This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We walked in and stood there to be seated. The servers were all sitting out front in a line vaping and didn’t even say anything when we arrived. A server passed us and said “you might well sit at the bar if you want to be served”. Ok - whatever - we can sit there. We went near the section on the water and there was empty plates, cups, and trash everywhere. Then we headed to the actual bar and the bartender exclaims that if we want food we better order it now because the kitchen was closing soon - no problem! We knew what we wanted. The bartender then slams a menu on the counter and walks away. We order an appetizer and entrees. 20-25 minutes goes by and the bartender drops off our entrees and said “sorry we’re all out of the ceviche and the kitchen is closed”. Say sorry? Offer us something else? We quickly ask if we could choose something else and she goes away for 15 minutes. My friend got the shrimp entree - overcooked and not grilled. Sides were awful. My grouper sandwich had so much salt piled onto it. We didn’t say anything. We cashed out and just went home. We are bartenders!!! We tip like crazy for kindness and the bare minimum!!! Stop using “it’s a hard industry” and the pandemic as a crutch as excuses when all you have to do is be kind and serve people the way you would want...
