When we researched this place prior to our trip, my husband and I were suspicious of ALL the 5-star reviews. We couldn't imagine any place could have that good of a reputation. Our trip proved all our suspicions wrong! We had an AMAZING, 8-day trip to St. Pete, and Inn on the Beach is nothing short of outstanding. We ended up arriving about 5 hours before check-in time, so I texted them to see if there was any chance we could get into our room. They responded saying the room wasn't ready yet, but we could store the bags in their supply room. We were still dressed in "winter" clothing, and Dee at the Inn let us change into our summer clothing in the supply room as well. I know that probably doesn't sound very fancy, but we were expecting to be dragging our bags and sweatshirts around Florida for a few hours and we were so relieved that they were so courteous and allowed us the luxury of storage and a changing area.
Throughout our stay, every single employee we encountered was such a joy! We chatted with Dee, Jamie, and Sheila - each one was pleasant, kind, and unbelievably helpful. We had just a few small maintenance requests, and they accommodated us promptly, kindly, and with an sincere mission to "get things right". The staff here seemed so genuinely excited to see us every time we ran into them, and it really went far to make us feel welcome.
The rooms are so cutely appointed, and even though we had a studio, it was just right for 2 of us. The room was clean, the shower updated and luxurious, and on days when we just felt like lounging in the room, the wifi/TV all were perfect. The property amenities were things we used CONSTANTLY. Beach umbrellas, chairs, towels, and of course, the bikes. My husband and I rode those things EVERYWHERE. It was such a bonus to have those on-site.
My husband got very sentimental when we left, and we vowed to be back again - I'm sure we will! Thanks again to the wonderful staff who are truly the "heart" of Inn...
Read moreThe Inn at the Beach was a perfect weekend escape. I booked this location solely based on reviews and was not disappointed.
From booking to check-in communication was clear and easy. The location is perfect and the amenities offered (beach chairs, towels and umbrellas) make the walk across the street to the beach even more pleasing.
I stayed in Sunset which is on the second floor facing West (towards the Gulf) and had a nice partial view of the water. The room was immaculate and the daily texts asking if I needed fresh towels or trash pickup were much appreciated.
The website advises this but I will mention this again, this is a renovated property and does not have elevators. The stairs are an easy but if you have mobility issues make sure you are booking a lower level room.
I mostly ate in the room, there is a small fridge and an induction burner with pan. The Inn also has an outside grill that I saw other guests using. While the Inn provides access to ice and a cooler in the room (for your use), I ran to Publix and got my own bag as I use a lot of ice in my water bottles. There are several Publix with in 15 minutes of the Inn. There is also a small store right across from the Wharf restaurant right up the road.
The complex and neighborhood are very quiet and even on Saturday during peak hours, parking was accessible on the street in the immediate area if the small onsite lot was full.
I did walk down and enjoy Paradise Grille just south of the Inn. Nice walk up spot with outdoor eating and quick service (but definitely good food and a good atmosphere).
All the staff were extremely friendly and willing to assist in any way possible.
This is a great find for any solo travelers or adults traveling as friends or as a couple. I will 100% be returning with my...
Read moreI cannot begin to describe how wonderful our lazy getaway experience was at Inn on the Beach. We booked this place because the cost included free access to beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, coolers, ice, free parking, bicycles, etc. We took full advantage of all of them! The location is across the street from the Gulf with immediate access via crosswalk. The weekend "light" continental breakfast included plenty of local pastries, yogurt, juices, fruit, bars, etc. This is the location you want to be to avoid the larger crowds of Treasure Island and Clearwater Beach. Sunsets were incredible and we saw plenty of dolphins, parrots, lizards, etc. You can still get to dozens of restaurants and grocery stores in a quick 7-9min car ride, but Pass-A-Grille has a handful of walkable/bikeable restaurants as well. We received texts each morning asking if we would like housekeeping. The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. I suggest getting one of the west facing rooms to enjoy the view. The location is also pleasantly quiet in the evenings. Very safe. We cannot wait to return and repeat our...
