First time at Kissin' Cuzzins. I'm glad we found this place. The food we had was absolutely delicious. Nothing bad to say about that! Flavorful, hot, plenty, presentable. They served it fast even when the place was packed to the roof with customers and more waiting to be led to a table, even more waiting to be greeted and some more walking in from outside. They needed a turnstile at the door! I can see why, too! It's the food, seriously good food that you can tell was made for you. Nothing cold and pre-cooked sitting there waiting to be had. Even the coffee was brewed constantly. Prices are on par with the area so expect to spend from $15-$20 per person on a decent breakfast.

Their menu also has VERY appetizing offerings that we're looking forward to trying like their fish and chips, southern style fried chicken, and some of their sandwiches. They have vegetarian options as well.

The place itself... well, it needs a facelift, though. It's very dated, cramped, and overused. The bathrooms are uncomfortable, fixtures rusted. So, yes, please, new owner. Fix the place. It looks old and dirty even when we know it is not. That place is a gold mine! Your food is phenomenal! You have the clientele, your servers are ALL wonderful... even the kid that walks around topping off our coffee mugs is king! But please, update your place, reprint the menus. Fix the bathrooms. Of course I'm not an entrepreneur or anyone to tell you what to do, just a new client who is STILL thinking about the food you served and looking forward to trying new plates.

My plate was a 3 egg Meat Lovers Omelette with Monterrey Jack, Hash Browns and Sourdough bread toasts.

We will be back for the...

Stepping into Kissing Cousins in St. Petersburg feels a bit like returning to a family diner you never realized you missed. The ambiance is all about that down-home warmth—friendly faces, kind waitresses, and a sense that you’re part of their extended family the moment you sit down.

Now, let’s talk about the food. I dove into their Steak Benedict special, which arrives with a choice of sides. After a bit of delightful indecision—chicken pot pie or sweet potato pancakes, or even a veggie omelet made a little wicked with some added ham—I went full-on for the Steak Benedict. And here’s the scoop: the side dish, a hearty potato mix with onions and a few other surprises, brings that comforting, homestyle flavor that makes you feel like you’re at a Sunday family brunch. It’s the kind of dish that doesn’t just feed you; it hugs you.

As for the Benedict itself, it’s exquisitely done. While the plating might be a touch on the casual side—let’s call it rustic charm— also a very big one because of my mother, the bathrooms, and the ramp don’t seem to be very easily wheelchair accessible. If you have a larger chair, I have a time maneuvering, this might not be the place for you. Sadly, it’s an older place and that happens. The flavors are top-notch. It’s an A- in the world of dining, and that’s a solid win. So if you’re in the area, definitely swing by Kissing Cousins. They get a warm 4.5 stars from me—great food, lovely people, and a place that feels like a cozy little slice of home. Ask for Jesse. She’s great with honest recommendations and then April a southern sass that comes with ol Florida. If she’s not a local, she...

OWNERS PLEASE READ

This is a one star based on my experience today when I went to pick up my togo order. I went in and gave my name and sat down to wait until it was ready. I ordered the fried chicken so knew it takes longer as it is cooked to order. My problem with today is that the manager Cathy was completely rude and uncomfortably inappropriate to the hostess, Amanda that was help me and the two other patrons. She was (in her own words) reprimanding her about an error in front of customers, making it uncomfortable for us and embarrassing for Amanda. Cathy, I do believe knew she was being inappropriate because she even directly said to one of patrons "oh she is upset because she is being reprimanded right now". I am in management dealing with thousands of people and I know that you DO NOT make a scene in front of your customers. There is a time and place for everything. This was not it.

I mentioned my feelings to Amanda and said she could pass along my message to Cathy and she quickly shook her head. That tells me that it most likely would not be well received as constructive criticism and make things worse for her. Such a shame. I have seen Amanda there several times during my visits, always with a smile and helping the customers. Today there was a shift and I would say it was due to how management (at that time of my visit) was handling things.

I sincerely hope that the owners and/or general manager see this and take it to heart. I love Kissin' Cuzzins fried chicken but today's customer service with Cathy's inappropriate interactions sadden me. I have always loved the vibe there. Today was...

Everything is good. Anything you get on this menu is going to be delicious. The only restaurant I can say this about. Got the blackened chicken omelette this time.
