Sudi's Caribbean Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Saint Thomas

Pretty disappointing experience today. My boyfriend and I came back from the beach and wanted something in our bellies before going out for the night. Once we walked in, we informed a woman that we wanted our food to go and she told us we could take a seat and take off our masks to relax while waiting to order. Awesome! We waited for over 5 minutes before anyone came to talk to us. Mind you, the restaurant was EMPTY. Another woman then plopped menus on the table and said nothing to us and walked away. We already knew what we wanted to order and did not need menus. We waited another 5 minutes before getting our order taken and the waitress was not having it with us. I am not sure why, but she was in a terrible mood. We told her we wanted our food to go and again, received attitude. We ordered the chicken quesadilla to go which was $15.50 on the menu so we expected a full sized quesadilla. Not only was the quesadilla about 1/2 the size of a normal quesadilla, but we were charged extra to take our food to go. I also watched as 3 service workers walked passed our food that was sitting outside of the kitchen- each of them looked at our order and ignored it. Because of the attitude we received, we decided not to leave a tip on the to go order. I was shocked with how unfriendly everyone was to us. The waitress opens up the check book, and sees I left no tip. Well she then walks passed us and said extremely sarcastically “thanks so much”. Unprofessional and unneeded. That is why I did not leave a tip. I always tip my service workers for a job well done, this woman did not deserve anything. Such a shame, the reviews were fantastic but we will not be returning. Overpriced food for baby portions and a nasty wait staff are not something I am willing to pay money for.

We went there after reading a lot of great reviews. The first impression was nice, we were greeted nicely, seated and we put an order. After a short wait we got the food and I can say that everything we ate was amazing. We decided to order something else to drink so imagine my surprise when the waitress came ro our table with the check I didn't ask for. After we ordered food she didn't came to our table to ask if we want anything else like a dessert or so, she just probably assumed that's all and prepared a check. She looked a bit annoyed when we told her that we would like to order drinks. She took an order and disappeared. After about 15 minutes (we saw her serving food and taking orders), passing by our table she said sorry and disappeared again. After next 10 min. the other waitress seeing us sitting over empty tables came over and asked if everything is ok. We explained the situation and she walked back. We didn't want to leave without paying (the first waitress took the check) so we were waiting. Finally the second waitress brought our drinks and a check. Some time after a guy emerged by our table and took the bill asking if everything was OK. I assume it was the owner. Finally we were able to pay and leave. It is sad, because we really loved the food and the place itself has a good vibes, but poor service ruined our experience and we most likely will...

Not a good experience at this restaurant. I called in takeout order of the loaded French fries, the fried chicken sandwich, and the fried fish tacos because we were told to try Sudi’s by an avid VI vacationer we met on the beach. For anyone staying in sapphire this is extremely convenient as It is a short walk away but I would urge you to not eat here. I walked into the restaurant without a mask on mistakenly, when I was then asked to leave because I was standing with no mask on but there were at least 15 people inside the bar sitting down with no masks on, also people at the bar with no masks on. All I was trying to do was pay for my food a leave very quickly as I was hungry from a long day at the beach. I abruptly left and went back to my condo to get a mask. I get back into the bar where I was ignored for 5 minutes by the wait staff. I believe one of the owners was sitting at a table In the corner and she saw me extremely frustrated and clearly saw that the bar tenders were paying zero mind to me so she got up and took care of me. When I got back to my condo I didn’t have any ranch for my dry fried chicken sandwich like I had specifically asked for over the phone and the loaded French fries tasted like cardboard. I ended up throwing the food away and going else ware. I do not recommend going to this place. Big waste...
