I want to give Crave five stars, but I do have a suggestion based on an experience ordering online today. I totally understand that Crave is a relatively small business and has limited inventory for a reason. However,I was a bit disappointed when I put in a paid online order for two cupcakes this morning for my partner's birthday (a pre-celebration before the weekend), and when I went to pick it up around 1pm they said they had had to put them away.

When I got into the store they thankfully had one cupcake left and they did offer to give me multiple scones as a consolation (I took one).

I have loved the cupcakes here for a while - not only because they're gluten free but because they're usually very professionally designed and the taste and texture are hard to distinguish from the regular stuff.

My suggestions: please tweak your online ordering system so that you can choose a pick-up time for later in the day, to avoid this happening again. Yes, I could have called, but we both work from home and I wanted to surprise my partner. I had paid for the items, and they didn't even wait until closing time to throw them out/resell them.

Anyway, I do hope to come back in the...

I had very high hopes coming here with all the gorgeous photos and reviews. I ordered the Northshore sandwich and it was too sweet for me. The aioli and the bacon turn this into candy and not what I want at breakfast. The egg was nicely cooked and the sandwich came out beautiful. The maple bacon on its own as a treat was delicious! My partner ordered the Crave sandwich and the pepper jelly was also too sweet. The gluten free bread was delicious though and the egg was also perfectly cooked! The coffee was okay, I think the barista may have been in training. We also ordered an apple crisp croissant. It was delicious and very sweet also, but perfect on its own with coffee. The location is nice and easy to walk to with plenty of street parking. The shop is very aesthetic and minimally decorated. It felt very clean and crafted. If you don’t like overly sweet breakfasts maybe build your own sandwich or just keep that in mind. It’s not on the menu, but they did have a steamed apple cider special too,...

Wrote a review for Beverly a while back and now need one for Salem! BEST coffee/pastry/breakfast place in Salem!! It’s a must have when you visit!! The sandwiches are always loaded with whatever you ask, the coffee is very high quality and don’t even get me started on those pastries…. BEST PASTRIES IN SALEM!!!! make sure you grab yourself a cupcake!!!

The biggest shout out i want to give is the staff, they are always SO SO friendly as both locations. Even if there’s a mix up with the order they always make sure you get what you asked for and it comes out perfect no questions asked!! They are amazing, I will always recommend crave for a go-to breakfast in Salem AND Beverly!!

(sorry no photos…devoured...

Dec 2023 Party of two. The food got the job done nothing spectacular. For me they had one option that was veggie. The bread was very hard and hurt my mouth, maybe it was a bad batch or maybe thats just the way the bread came regardless didn’t like that. It was creamy with cheese, nicely cooked egg and that part saved the meal all together 6/10. The meat option- 8.5/10 was also good got the job done crunchy and soft and a quick meal if in a rush. Noticed there was a lot of diverse people inside which is why we entered in the first place. Got tots on the side with the ketchup that was extra$. Place is also tiny with minimal seating.
