This was the worst experience my husband and I have ever had at a public bar/restaurant. There was a dog in the establishment and when we walked in the door, the dog went nuts barking at us, it lunged at us and we thought we may be attacked. Having been bitten by an uncontrolled dog once, my husband is very afraid of dogs. I love dogs, and while I don't think they belong in many places people bring them to, if you do bring them into a public place, they better be well behaved and not threaten to cause harm to others. We should have just turned around and walked out, but we stupidly stayed and had one drink each. During that time you would have thought that they would remove the misbehaved dog so it doesn't threaten anybody else. But no. Apparently that made too much sense. The dog did the exact same thing as we were leaving. Everybody that had anything to do with the situation kept apologizing, but your apologies don't do anything for my husband and if you didn't remove the dog, your apologies ring hollow. How do you have an animal such as this in a public place that you want to attract customers? The absurdly ironic part about the whole thing is that they have a sign on their door that reads "Well Behaved People Welcome!!" Apparently you just have to behave as a human. If they care so little about the comfort of their customers, I would think that you would be much better off going some other place that actually does value you...
Read moreI was skeptical at first, but then got my head out of my a** and realized this is a local dive bar. I am someone who typically goes to high scale bars or restaurants - I got invited to this place cause mutual friends has considered this place to be “their spot” and not in the bad way where they are unwelcoming, but they like it so much they come every Friday and Saturday. People seem to fixate on the bouncer being rude, but it’s not the case. If you worked as a bouncer I think they’d get perspective. It’s a hard job to be a bouncer, the amount of bs you have to encounter is obscene. I have been here probably 10 times now, and I can only say good things. The bouncer , who I would hope would recognize me, looks and checks my id as if I have never been there, and I understand why. He is not willing to over look something and realize he screwed up. I can appreciate someone who takes the job seriously. The bar tender, jumper - is the nicest lady I’ve ever kind, a truly kind soul. She has recognized me after being here a couple of times - and knows what I drink and is so kind and patient. I really respect bars like this as I used to be a frequent at a bar in steamboat springs that operated similar to this bar does. With that said: This bar has always felt safe, in every and all terms. I appreciate this place as they have a great team, good drinks and...
Read moreThe door guy literally yelled at me when I walked past him at the door. Yelled "HEY!" then accused me of ignoring him on purpose? I apologized, explained I hadn't seen him , and showed him my license, and he continued to accuse me of trying to sneak in. Like, why would I do that ? Really threw me off, and I would have left right away if i hadn't been there to see a friend. I would have given 1 star if it hadnt been for the absolutely charming bartender . I've been before, and she's always so sweet (btw when I was there before , I showed my ID at the bar; there was nobody at the door) . Too bad about the psycho at the door . Oh and the...
