Review of Thieves Guild â Salt Lake City
If youâre in Salt Lake and looking for a spot thatâs cozy, creative, and full of characterâThieves Guild is a must-visit.
From the moment I walked in, the staff made the experience memorable. Theyâre warm, genuinely friendly, and have a great instinct for recommending drinks. I tried both a cider and a couple of their in-house, non-alcoholic creations, and everything was crafted with care and attention to detail. Whether you're sipping something boozy or booze-free, youâll be in good hands.
One of the most charming things about Thieves Guild is the vibe. The space is filled with booths, tables, and fantasy flair, including three unisex bathrooms, each themed around a different fantasy realmâit's the kind of detail that makes you smile.
They also host regular tabletop game nights, each with its own theme, so whether you're a seasoned player or just curious, it's a great way to connect and have fun.
Heads-up: parking can be tricky. Thereâs a small lot behind the building, and on-street metered parking nearby (2-hour limit), so plan accordingly. They do not have food but outside food is always welcome.
Overall, Thieves Guild feels like a hidden gemâa welcoming, imaginative space run by passionate people. Canât...
Read moreHonestly Iâve come here twice. Once right after open a was very disappointed since the only ciders they were serving were from another cidery I visit regularly, and they were very under-carbonated, to the point of almost being flat. On this occasion it also took 15 minutes to get a drink and another 15 waiting with an empty glass to even be asked if I wanted another, while sitting at the bar with fewer than 10 people being served. The second time was today, again very limited self produced ciders, and very few seats available. Their âflightâ was 3 definitively half full 3oz glasses for $7, only one of which was self produced, because after months of âopenâ operation they still only have one self produced cider, and again the drinks were barely carbonated, and poured flat into the glass reducing what little carbonation there was. Food is limited to whichever food truck shows up.
I really want to like this place, but so far they have been, in my opinion, a big let down. Especially compared to the other cider producers in the area. Iâm going to try again in a few more months and see how they can improve. The location, theme, and audience are great, but the products, quality, and service...

Donât skip on: The Garden Wall
I came to Thieves Guild to participate in their Trivia Night and ti was so much fun! Tonightâs theme was Shrek and the mood that the car set tonight was on point! Right when we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest host. Once she checked our IDs, we walked up to the bar to order drinks. One of the bartenders was dressed Doris from the movies and it was fantastic. We got to try the Shrek special, ginger beer, dark portal and Garden wall this evening and all of the drinks were great! I especially liked the refreshing taste of the Garden Wall and will definitely be back for that.
Trivia night was a lot of fun and the host did well. I feel bad for all the manual work he had to do to tally things up and hope there is a better way to do this as the game took a bit longer as expected. Not a big deal because it gave everyone time to get more drinks and to mingle.
Loved the staff here - these are some of the nicest bartenders Iâve met in a while and itâs refreshing! The bar was well kept and I lived the decor. Canât wait to...
