I've heard a decent amount of buzz about this place from friends and have had food from here a couple times but never actually made it to the shop until today (7/16). So I was excited to get a breakfast sandwich and see what the market was all about. Arrived around 1pm and opened the doors to a wall of sound that made it nearly impossible to be inside the place. They were blasting metal so loud that I had to lean over the counter to yell at the guy taking my order what I wanted like I was out at a bar with a live band. Weird for a sandwich shop/small market to have that vibe, but what was weirder was that no one working acknowledged it whatsoever. The dude who could barely hear my order acted totally normal as did the guys making my sandwich. The other customers in the shop were all looking around and giving looks like they were unsure what to do about how LOUD it was in there. More than one group of people walked up while I was waiting for my food, opened the doors, then turned around and left without buying anything. Not sure what the deal was today but it was a seriously bad experience there especially with everyone working there acting none the wiser about it. The food was good like previous times I'd eaten it, but at this point I probably won't be going back anytime soon. Also strange cause I follow this place on Instagram and they have a fun looking vibe and real interesting food, but if that's what it's always like here I won't be surprised if they go out of business at some point. Also walked the market for a second and the shelves were half empty and all the fruit in some of their fridges was very molded over. It was just so weird for how positive I've heard this place be talked about that I can't reckon it in my head. Oh...
Read moreI’m really hoping this market can make it. I would love to shop here in between farmers markets and main grocery store trips BUT i have a few comments.
I understand local salad mixes and veggies can go bad quickly, that’s why they need doors on their fridges to keep things cooler for longer - especially since the store is so warm from the pizza oven.
All of their veggies were going bad/needed to be eaten today. If they had prices noted or if things were marked down I would have bought them. But I had no idea how much anything was because nothing had prices marked
All of their local baked goods are gorgeous but I bought something and the cashier told me it was Boston cream pie vanilla when it was really peanut butter. Again, labels would have solved this issue.
Got a pizza which was sadly under cooked and not crispy. Also had a mortadella sandwich which was top notch.
I’m stoked to have a local spot to easily pick up beers. I will def be giving this place another shot but I hope these few things can be...
Read moreThey waited 20 mins to start making my sandwich order. Its a small space, so I saw them doing a bunch of other stuff that I’d imagine would come second to preparing a customer’s order. Their response was to say the wait was due to their food being made from scratch which makes no sense because they were barely starting to assemble the sandwiches, it’s not like they were working on them. There was plenty of already baked bread so its not like I was waiting on the oven.
Let me be clear, they were not working on other previous orders, I could see them doing side work instead and attending to other customers that came after us.
I am not an impatient person, I would be fine waiting 20 mins. But when I realized they were barely gonna get started and we had been totally passed over it really ruined the experience. I had to cancel and ask for a refund
I am so sick of getting overlooked at these hip trendy establishments. Beware of this place if you know...
