Scion Cider Bar in Salt Lake City is a delightful haven for cider enthusiasts, newbies, or anyone just wanting to try a new place. Let me paint a vivid picture of this gem:
Atmosphere: The Scion Cider Bar exudes a relaxed and inviting vibe. As you step inside, the air hums with the promise of good times. Long communal tables and cozy bar tops beckon, creating an ideal setting for camaraderie.
Eclectic Crowd: Here’s the magic: Scion manages to attract a diverse crowd. Whether you’re a sprightly young soul or a seasoned connoisseur (like myself), you’ll feel right at home. No age barriers, just good company.
Games and Conversations: Picture this: multiple tables engaged in lively games. It’s like a symphony of laughter and friendly competition. And what pairs perfectly with games? Drinks! Scion gets it right with their enticing selection.
Cider Wonderland: The bartender, with a warm smile, guides you through the cider wonderland. She’s like a compass, helping you navigate the sea of options. While I reveled in the cider flights, my hubby found his IPA match. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Food Temptations: Now, I missed out on the food (dinner timing, you know), but the anticipation lingers. The cheese board awaits my return, promising a symphony of flavors.

Read moreMy friends and I came on July 24th to Scion around 4pm. There was one bartender. I used the QR code to look over the menu. I was looking for a dry cider so when I got to the front of the line I let the bartender know which one I wanted and made my order. My friend behind me asked the bartender “what’s a good dry cider” to which the bartender said “we have a menu with descriptions”. I get it if the bar is busy but there wasn’t a single person behind our group in line. Not to mention the online menu doesn’t breakdown ciders into categories but just has them on one big list and not in any particular order from what I can tell. (I may have an untrained eye) My friend responded “yeah, but I’m asking you! I want to know what you’ll suggest” the bartender replied “there are tons of ciders out there and it’s impossible to answer that.” I’ve worked in bars for over 15 years and was a lead beer expert at yard house with over 250 tap handles. There’s a nicer way to answer that question and help a customer navigate the menu. Customers shouldn’t be expected to be cider experts. That’s why we come to a brewery where they have an expert. This experience isn’t going to prevent us from going back. Just consider having a conversation with...
Read moreOk. I have put this off long enough. I had to do some serious soul searching before i reviewed this business. I have never tasted alcoholic cider. So i was brand new to the industry. I discovered that cider is an acquired taste. Of which, i did not acquire. I absolutely hated the taste. This is the reason for my hesitation. The service was absolutely phenomenal. Top tier. World class customer service experience. This alone drove me to finally review. I have to admit, i am seriously extra. And my over the top personality was met with kindness, patience (😲), and encouragement. They guided me and my friends on our first cider journey with so much enthusiasm and so much passion, i almost became a customer. But alas, it still tastes like a cat box smells. EXCEPT!!! The house hot mulled cider. Oh. My. Word. That was the star of the night. Make sure you inquire about that when you visit. Aside from that, the cider master explained everything and the other poor souls who helped us served us with a smile. These guys are the true heroes!! 😂😂 The atmosphere is amazing and welcoming. Don't hesitate to try these guys out. You won't be...
