Decent sushi for the area, horrible online ordering experience, over-stressed workers in need of more hands and a better order system. We had the not-so-great idea of ordering takeout on a Friday night and chose Big Fish for the first time. The website ordering for pickup was easy with a clear menu and checkout process that even gave an option for pickup times--or so we thought.
Fast forward to the actual time which was confirmed with an email, we ended up waiting a half hour past our time watching others who had walked in after us, including food delivery drivers, take their orders and leave with us still waiting. The poor girl manning the front desk handled the bulk of the people walking in, answered the phone, and talked with the kitchen in the back to get delivery orders out. 5 stars to her juggling as well as she could.
Please take some time to figure out your online ordering system and priorities for both your takeout and dine in customers. If you cannot handle a Friday night rush of both with your current level of staff, you need to reflect the correct wait times on your website instead of forcing customers to wait. Or, how about not even taking any online orders to focus on what looked like an already full house dining in, even if it's only on...

-Increase in prices -Sake is now served in a glass, but I noticed it's about 2/3 the amount of the bottle you use to pay for. So now not only are you paying more, but your sake may not even be fresh. -WAITED HALF AN HOUR FOR A PICKUP ORDER!! This isn't the first time. They weren't even busy. Several others waited that long too. -Service is really slow when sitting in person. Not sure if they are understaffed or what the issue is.
They get one star for being polite and one for the sushi tasting okay.
Original review: We have been back here three more times and every time it's consistent. Fish quality has been great here, your nose is always the best indicator for seafood.
How does it stack up to other sushi in the area? I got seriously sick from Zushi sushi in Issaquah. They're fish did not seem fresh at all. Orenge has terrible customer service and the fish was also very smelly and old. Aji is also amazing, just a little out of the way for us.
We have ordered here a few times and now it's our go-to sushi place. Everything is fresh...
Read moreThe aesthetic of the place is very charming and pleasant, their presentation is the best I've seen, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
Unfortunately, the most important part, the sushi itself, is kind of... lackluster. I've tried this restaurant 5 or 6 times already ordering a plethora of different items, but each time I've kind of come to the same conclusion... it just tastes mediocre. Their stuff is fine, and for the price some of the stuff is decent like the rolls, but other stuff like nigiri is really overpriced. $5.25 for 2 pieces of basic salmon nigiri when the taste is mediocre is really rough.
I really, really wish I had better things to say here. I was really excited for this place to open up after discovering that I liked sushi from Sushi Me in Bellevue, but what I got was a very aesthetic restaurant with mediocre food.
Other than the Gyoza. Their Gyoza sauce is god-like, I wish they sold it.
If you want some really fantastic Sushi, go to Sushi Me instead. It's less expensive and, better testing sushi in my opinion. Well...
