Bob’s Steak & Chop House 5815 Rim Pass, San Antonio, TX 78257 Visited around Thanksgiving last year. 1. The ribeye was fantastic—tender, juicy, and perfectly charred. PS: Must highlight the skillet-fried potatoes side. Full name: *Skillet Fried Potatoes topped with Sautéed Onions and Peppercorn Gravy*. Looks mushy, but trust me, you gotta try it. Fried first, then coated in sauce—rich flavor with a crispy bite. So good I finished the potatoes even after skipping the rest of my steak. 2. The Cosmo was expertly mixed—highly recommended (though it’s a common drink, many places make it too fruity; this one was crisp and clean). 3. The beef tartare was just okay. Served with wonton wrappers instead of bread, and the beef was overly sweet. 4. The Chophouse Salad, with bacon and hearts of palm, was simple but tasty. Portions here are massive—I was half-full after the appetizers. Ended up taking half a steak home each. 😅 This is a chain—they also have a location in Dallas. #Steakhouse #Foodie #SanAntonioEats #BobSteakAndChopHouse #TexasDining

This was my first time to Bob's Steak & Chop House. The food came out delicious. I had a salad with bleu cheese and although I am not a fan of bleu cheese, there have been one of times where I have felt the quality of the place would probably be serving a much better higher quality bleu cheese. This is in fact the case here. I did not leave any salad behind. I ordered the ribeye and although I know it is the least expensive steak on the menu, I wasnt looking to tackle 20+ Oz. The steak came out as ordered, Med - Rare (only way to eat a steak) however, it seemed like it may have been an aged steak because the pink was minimal but the tenderness and juicyness of the steak was that of med-rare. This is how I get my friends wife to rave about my "well done" steak. I just age it and of course, the red dye "blood" is gone. I enjoyed the true steak flavor as it was not heavily seasoned like some other steak houses. Don't get me wrong, I do like a heavy garlic and seasoned steak, but I also appreciate a quality slab of meat. Brussel sprouts were also delicious. I wish there was a little more glaze on them as it provides a nice flavor pop to the Brussels. Careful though, you will need a toothbrush as soon as you're done with these because they do leave your breath a little rancid. 😉

I had the most appalling and horrible experience at the rim location here in San Antonio Bobs Steak N chop house. I had a 430 reservation and there was inclement weather so I reached out to the restaurant that very day around 130 and they returned my call and said that they were open and I shared with him that I had a long drive that I was in the truck and had to pick other people up to attend our reservation. Once we got there they close the restaurant due to inclement weather, I was frustrated after I’ve been on the road for an hour But I understood so we left but before we walked out the door the general manager named Steve Clemens had given me his card and stated that he wanted to make things right and so I called back that evening and I left a voicemail on two different days but I figured they were closed and I wouldn’t hear back until they re-opened and then I sent an email just in case he did not receive my voicemail. I said nothing out of line nor did I make any remarks that he should have stayed open in my email it was very professional and very kind. So I called today to make my reservation and the hostess says they’re not sure if they’re gonna be open today and I said OK I’ll go ahead and make my reservation for tomorrow she says I can’t guarantee anything but we will call you due to having water issues and I said that was fine and she stated she would get ahold of the GM and we hang up. So then I get a call from Mr. Clemens who is the general manager and I had witnesses in the truck because I was talking via Bluetooth and he was yelling at me and stating that I didn’t care about his staff and making up lies one after another and stated that I was never invited back to his restaurant and that he was canceling my reservation he was derogatory and he called me names for an example he called me a “clown“ and was extremely unprofessional. I have never been talk with that tone in my life and my girlfriend that was in the truck who is a witness to all of this was shaking herself listening to how angry he was. There was no reason for us to be talk to you this way I never cursed at him nor did I yell at him or anything of that matter. I have proof of the email if he wants to challenge what was said. But I’m going to the top with this and I’m going to do everything within my power to make sure this doesn’t happen to another customer. I’ve been going to Bobs Steak N chop house for Over 10 years in multiple locations I’ve had birthday parties at multiple locations and work celebrations and I’ve spent thousands of dollars and want to continue to do so, i’ve always appreciated the atmosphere and the service that I’ve been provided at all the locations including the one here in San Antonio But the way the conversation started when he called me today and the way it ended was so degrading for a long time customer and extremely...

It's very hard to believe that I am having to write this review on our favorite steakhouse. Fortunately for us it's not our normal local location. However for those who may frequent or just may be visiting this location I thought it to be of critical importance that I write this review of the Bob's Steakhouse in San Antonio, TX at 5815 Rim Pass drive. Recently my wife and I were visiting San Antonio with our 3yr old. Because of all of the hard work that my wife puts in with a 3yr old daily, I wanted to surprise her with a little favorite dessert from our hometown. While she was doing a little shopping I was glad to see that there was a Bob's Steakhouse there in San Antonio. I decided to place a quick to go order of the Brownie sundae that we both love so much. When she arrived to the car, she was surprised and excited that I'd thought to do such a thing knowing how hard it would have been to enjoy dining in with a 3 yr old. When we arrived to our room my wife started to dig in, at times sharing bites with me and my 3yr old. Until suddenly she screams and starts to gag. I immediately jumped up to see why and to our disbelief there was a huge piece of glass which cut the roof of her mouth. (Pictures attached) I immediately contacted mgmt of Bob's who had the general manager Steven Clemmons to call me the next day. Once I expressed to Mr. Clemmons what happened rather  than taking ownership he stated he wouldn't know where glass could come from being that they didn't keep any in the kitchen.  Though he apologized he deferred his responsibility to do anything about it to a promise to call our local Bob's general manager and ask that he would do something special for us the next time we visit. He assured me that we wouldn't need to do anything but make the reservation at our local Bob's and they would  automatically know what had taken place and extend special attention because of it at his request. I decided to take my wife to our local Bob's on Mother's  day with the expectation of what Mr. Clemmons had promised.  To our surprise no one at our local Bob's had heard a thing about this incident nor had any instructions to do anything about it. When I called Mr. Clemmons back and informed him of our visit, he stated, "He didn't know what I expected but had he spoke with the management at our local Bob's he was only going to ask him to say hello". I informed him that this was unacceptable and not only harmed my wife but could've been fatal had our 3yr old swallowed the glass. I asked who he reported to and how I may contact them and he stated that this Bob's location was not a part of the franchise and that he only reported to the owner who didn't live in...

My parents just updated me on their recent dining experience here, and it made me sick.

They had made reservations for a table for their 40th wedding anniversary, however, upon arrival, they were shown to a booth. My father specifically said 'table' when he made the reservation, for a couple of reasons. One being, he is a larger man of 6'5" who does not fit comfortably into booths, and the other reason being that my mother, who has had a double hip replacement, cannot scoot comfortably in and out of a booth. Thus, a table was requested and promised.

Fast forward to them being shown the booth and then asking to be put at a table, per their initial request--this subsequently led to their mistreatment not only by the hostess, but by the general manager, Steve Clemens. Apparently, Mr. Clemens told them to either sit at the booth or leave. Well, it's pouring rain outside and since they had been planning a trip to San Antonio for their anniversary and made the correct reservation, they understandably said no and were adamant about getting the table that should have been reserved for them. The staff set up a table and Mr. Clemens placed them on the clock, insisting that they could eat there but that they needed to leave by 7:30 PM. All of this was said and done in an incredibly rude, unprofessional, and disgusting manner that ruined my parent's night. A member of the staff under Mr. Clemens offered them a complimentary bottle of wine but they do not drink and nothing else was said or offered in the way of an apology. Sure enough, the general manager avoided eye contact for the rest of the night.

I became appalled when they recounted these events to me, now several weeks later, and immediately got online to find out more information and say something about this huge error in management and mistreatment of guests. I've seen a few more mentions of Mr. Clemens lack of propriety and I believe my parents when they say they have never encountered a ruder member of management.

Oh yes, the food! Medium steak cooked well done and overly salted sides mean that at least my family and friends won't be missing out...
