Cafe Rosas — Restaurant in San Antonio

This place has been here since the beginning of time. So dont let the outside fool you. Ive gone to almost every taco place and i have to keep this one at the top of my list for their exceptional skill of consistency and best overall home-made corn and four tortillas. I used to be an "only flour tortilla" until I had their home-made corn tortillas.. I then proceeded to climb Mount Everest and scream.. "THE BEST CORN TORTILLAS EVER!!" I am a chef myself and can say it is difficult to keep great tasting consistency throughout time. But the management is absolutely crucial and they keep it right. Their potatos and eggs are perfectly cooked. Not dry hard and over cooked.. They are soft, fluffy and moist. Perfect! They have expanded their menu to now serving, Tortas, Mini tacos, and Mexican Burgers! P.s medudoit top notch too!! You will keep coming...

I ordered tacos from this place for the first time today. I usually go to Cafe Rosa's #1 but we were in this area and decided to pick up tacos to go. The people were friendly and atmosphere was very nice and the food was really good. For 6 regular tacos (no meat) and 1 mexican coke i paid about $18.00 which was good. The only problem I have are with the Tortillas. As soon as I touched them I could tell they were not fresh and were from the day before or the flour had been sitting for too long. They were very hard when you touched and tasted them. Usually when you go to a restaurant the tortillas are so soft and hot because they are fresh. Not these. It kind of took away from the food. I hope they don't do this all the time. Next time I go in, I am going to ask...

I never had an issue with this place until my most recent visit. I usually get food with my daughters to go and never had problems. This visit I was with my boyfriend and we placed our to go order and were told to have a seat and we could pay when our food was ready. This was odd to me because they always charged me right away but we sat down and waited for our tacos. 20 minutes went by and nothing so I approached the counter, before I could say anything the waitress rudely said yea your tacos will be out in a few minutes. We waited another ten minutes and watched them serve a table their food that came in 15 minutes after we did.
