**beware of overcharging!!** So, first time visiting this restaurant. El Jimador on Vance Jackson and i10. Our waitress was wonderful, the food was great. I was telling my friends that this might be a new go to spot- up until I went to pay. When ordering I asked for a frozen Top Shelf margarita. Waitress takes my order and leaves- a woman (I think manager) then comes over and explains they don’t have frozen top shelf. I say, ”that’s okay, just give me your regular frozen margarita and add a shot of patron on top”. As this is what most restaurants I have been to previously do for their “top shelf” She says okay that works. I get my margarita…it was pretty good. Not strong by any means. Fast forward going to pay- I get charged $21.98. I go to the counter and the woman who originally explained the issue of not having frozen top shelf’s is working the register. I ask why I am charged this much? She says they decided to make me a fresh frozen top shelf. Which is $13.99. (Expected price) And the proceeded to still add the extra shot of patron. For $7.99. So I ask why there was no communication of this. She basically told me this is just what it is and there’s nothing she can do about it. I have been to boujee overpriced restaurants all over San Antonio and have NEVER paid this much for a marg. Insane. Receipt attached below.

I ordered the Sirloin steak parrilla and they brought out a milenessa. When I brought it to their attention, a short man with a blue shirt tried to convince me it was a Sirloin. I let him know I'm a true steak eater and what they served me was NOT Sirloin. He then offered to give me a T bone steak, which they made to their liking and when he brought it to my table he practically threw it at me. He was visibly angry that I had called him out, trying to pass a milenessa for Sirloin steak. I only wanted what I paid for. But he was visibly upset about it. Our waitress never brought us water or asked if we would like refills. I left my food there untouched. They are the type of people that don't want you to speak up if something is wrong. They expect you to be OK with whatever they throw at you like a dog. I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again. They are undeserving of anyone's business as they try to fool you with food you did not ask for and then get mad when you know the difference. Service is horrible unless you're a man the waitresses can flirt with. Definitely stay away.

The gorditas are paper thin and looked pale like a flour tortilla. They weren't fried like a typical gordita. The picadillo inside the gordita was not good either. The taste was not typical of other picadillo or of picadillo I make at home. The shredded chicken in the second one was not good either. Both gorditas were overwhelmed by cheese. The best part was the beans, both boracho and refried beans were excellent and authentic. My husband had the chicken fajitas, they appeared to be a thinly sliced chicken breast very flat and dry. The tortillas were good and authentic. Best part, not having to pay for the gordita plate which I hardly touched I only ate some of the beans with the tortillas from my husbands plate. See attached pics. I did talk to the lady at the register and explained why I did not like the gorditas, she said people had complained about greasy gorditas and that is why they no longer fry them. On a side note, the waitress took our order, got lost, eventually brought our order and we never saw her again.

Re: the food- it was good

Re: the customer svc - it was not good

My husband and I walked in. There were 2 servers standing behind register talking with their backs towards the register. We stood in front of the register for a minute or two before my husband said "hello. Do we just sit any where?" One of the servers jumped from being startled and said "oh yes, any where"

I ordered soft Tripas plate but changed it to Fideo Loco when they told me they only had crispy Tripas left and out of soft Tripas 🤔 My husband ordered #15 Mexican plate (enchiladas and a crispy taco) but was given #18 plate instead (enchiladas and carne quisada). We did not want to wait any longer for them to correct it so he just ate what was brought to him.

When we were done we pushed our plates aside and sat at the table for a while just talking. Normally servers come by and ask if they can remove the plates and if we need any thing else at which time we normally ask if they can take our card to close us out or if we have to go to the register. After a while that no one came to us my husband got up to pay. He noticed they charged us for a tripas plate vs. Fideo plate and that his plate (which was the wrong order) was $3.00 more than the plate he had ordered so he tells the cashier this --- not because he wanted a refund but just for them to know. Well instead of an apology the cashier rudely says "Well why didn't you say something earlier. The plate you ate cost more than the plate you ordered because it had carne quisada" my husband said "Although I did not realize this plate was $3.00 more I am fine with paying for it. I am simply just pointing out the 2 errors that were made. The other error was that my wife changed her order from Tripas plate to Fideo Loco but we were charged for tripa plate" The cashier looks at the bill (which was already charged to the card) and says "Well that's only $1.00 extra" and proceeds to take $1 out if register and practically throws it at him.

I asked her "Why are you handling this with an attitude" "We didn't ask for anything other than just wanted to make you aware" "If this is the way you regularly treat customer it is very wrong"

Needless to say, we will not return to...

Went in around noon on a Saturday With my husband and kids. My husband had their burger with french fries, I had a chicken fajita salad and my two year old had the enchilada kids plate. The only thing decent was the lemonade and salad. The beans and enchilada tasted like lard. The rice that came with that plate wasn't the worst however it was very greasy. My husband Couldn't finish eating the burger from how old the meat tasted. I had to try it... Let me tell you, the cook mustve been having a bad day or mayve they need a new cook! We didn't want to make a big deal about it bcause afterall it wasn't the waitress' fault however I did feel it was necessary to ask if we could switch from the burger meal to two plain tacos as my husband refused to eat. She grabbed the plate and said she had to ask management and walked away. She came back with the two tacos but said that the manager would Not remove the burger from our ticket because unfortunately half the burger was eaten. Explained to the waitress that before returning their burger we had to try it. Explained that I even had to taste it before returning and agreed that half of it was gone but before complaining my husband really wanted to see if he could like it. She said "she" understood me but that management said bc we ate half of it that it not acceptable. What poor and cheap management is running this facility??! Also, they made us feel like we were trying to " get out of paying" the $4.99 for their burger... Really??? I will not be returning. And how uncomfortable they made us feel by their response. So sad bc I Always order from this restaurant. I work close by too so how sad. My coworkers and I love how convenient this is. I for sure will be telling them of my experience today with my family and will...

Unfortunately, I don't think I will be a customer any longer. The wait times have been tremendously long as of late. No matter the time of day. Twice I asked for Bean & Cheese on "CORN" Tortilla. Both times, I was given "FLOUR." On another occasion I had a new employee or someone who's not normally drive thru. They charged "EXTRA QUESO" When I ordered Egg & Cheese Taco's(x2). I inquired because it was $1.50 more. Answer didn't make sense. Biggest complaint is wait time. Use to not be like this.... LOL so I decided to try this place again they don't know what a freaking breakfast burrito is they advertise it on their menu they asked me what type they tell me they're six different types I'm like the breakfast burrito whatever comes in it so she had mentioned sausage chorizo I said okay this one with sausage they end up giving me basically a lunch burrito with lettuce tomato full of sour cream some type of rice no egg no cheese they had already charged me almost $8 on my card don't know why when the menu says $4.99 so at that time she had dipped into the tip jar gave me $3 in cash back LOL I come back around realizing that they just gave me a lunch burrito not the breakfast burrito then they give me a piping hot breakfast burrito finally made the right way WTH... on top of this I try to order their chicken tortilla soup they tell me they have a chicken soup and a tortilla soup LOL but then they tell me they could add the chicken I asked the price and it's...
