Our go to stop for a marg with chips and salsa on a night away from our busy lives. However, this visit was disappointing. Today I witnessed an employee, not sure if she is a hostess or waitress, walk out the restroom without washing their hands.
In addition, my husband and I love to sit at the bar. The bartender, Jordan seems highly distracted socializing with her peers than servicing her customers. The bar was dirty at arrival with only 1 customer sitting. We stood for several minutes until we HAD to ask if she could clean an area for us to sit. Jordan decides to spray cleaning spray over our salsa, wipes in a circle hitting me with crumbs and the dirty cleaning rag. She literally cleaned nothing. Crumbs, used napkins, straw wrappers and drink coasters in the sitting area where we were. In shock that she found that acceptable, I said to her “ please give me napkins to wipe it down. No way, this is ok for us to eat in this area.” I pointed out everything that she left behind, and to be fair I wasn’t being a difficult customer. Our area was the same when we came in, filthy with just water swipes on the bar. I continued to say, please give me napkins to do your job for you. And guess what?! She did! Instead of just cleaning up the area and at least apologizing. I, cleaned my own area and picked up trash. -HA
Suggestion as well for Jordan, might be smart to keep your comments of drinking at your job once it closes at 10 to hit up whatever bar you and your coworkers tend to go out to after work. Definitely not something, customers should hear. Also, please do not handle food, after touching your cellphone several times.
Mind you, this was at 9pm. It was empty. Due to this interaction, it made a Friday evening that was suppose to fun and relaxing to an uncomfortable night. I did not feel right eating my food and just our interactions between us were awkward.
We love Chuys and come here often but tonight was the first we didn’t get great service. Honestly,...
Read moreI came in Friday night around 7pm this week. We were sat as a party of three and my husband hung back at the hostess stand due to the poor and quite frankly, dehumanizing treatment of an unhoused man who was clearly down on his luck. He was victim to losing everything after his house burned down to the ground. My husband wanted to buy him food and was met with “…oh well I guess so but our Togo specialist is really busy so it’ll be a long time.” All in an effort to prevent this man being given a meal they were going to be paid for. Once our server came around 10 min after we sat she proceeded to take our order for drinks and the Togo order, brought out both of our margaritas incorrectly and took 30 min for us to receive the to go order as well as the chips and queso for the table. Once her family showed up to eat they were sat in the booth behind us and she sat down with them and audibly talked poorly about other customers and their “obnoxiously complicated orders” and the amount of food one man ordered for himself. Once our Togo order arrived she stated “the manager threw in some food as well on us.” Interestingly after his staff was incredibly rude for him seeking respite of air conditioning and water on the waiting bench. Mind you, there was no wait not even half the restaurant was filled. I have been going to chuys my entire life all over Texas depending on where I lived and this was by far the WORST service, speed of service and food quality I’ve ever had. Mikayla needs training severely on rate of speed, speaking about other customers, and getting the simplest orders correct. The kitchen… I don’t know what’s going on in there I’ve never been so sick after eating at a Chuys. The manager, pay attention to your staff and their inability to humanize a fellow HUMAN BEING who’s severely down...
Read moreWe ordered 2 family fajita meals to go with an extra dozen tortillas for New Year's Eve. The total with a tip was $200. My husband went to pick it up and he had to wait a long time because the person doing the to go area was off in the corner talking to their friend. When he got home I noticed that they did not put the extra dozen tortillas, 2 guacamole, 2 sour cream, 2 jalapeño salsa, 2 regular salsa's, and second bag of chips. Basically a quarter of what we purchased wasn't given to us. I called and the manager said she could replace it or send me a dinner card in the mail. I told her we needed the items so my husband went all the way back to get the items. When he arrived, the manager, Ashley, told him that the lady that put our order together was their best waitress so there was no way she had made that kind of mistake. She also told him that they had packed up 8 of the family meals that day and didn't make a single mistake on those so she didn't think she made a mistake on our order. She told my husband that he needed to send her a picture of the food we had gotten from them. After sending the pic to my husband the manager then replaced the missing items. When he left I called Ashley to ask why she would ask for a pic as if we were scamming them out of some chips and salsa. My husband left to get the order at 6pm and he didn't finish with the entire ordeal until 8pm. The worst Chuys experience we have ever had and we will never order from this location again. Ashley should not be a manager in a customer service centered industry if she doesn't know how to make customers feel respected and understood. Why would we pay $200 for food just to have the manager treat us like we are scammers. Do...
