I dread writing this review because I have been a regular customer of all the Dimassis locations for at least 10 years. Finally, this location was able to match the excellent food that the other locations have. For a while It was an outlier having their own sort of menu so this has nothing to do with the food. The food was spectacular as usual, I have just reached my limit and frustration with this location as far as the seating arrangements. When it’s crowded, they have people packed like sardines. When half the restaurant is available. They have a sign that says only for parties of six people or more so pretty much half the restaurant seating goes unused and every time I come here I have to think to myself am I gonna sit next to somebody that’s coughing. I know this isn’t Covid anymore but every other dimassis in the state of Texas has options for social distancing to sit but not this place. Today there was a table in the corner close to the register that had reserved signs on it. The restaurant was fairly crowded so I decided to sit there because it was sort of away from people. The owner/ manager told me I had to leave the table. I just finished eating there and sure enough after about 45 minutes of eating nobody did use that table it just sat there unused just like half the restaurant Meanwhile, I did end up sitting at a table where the guy next to me was coughing so I was rushing my food didn’t really enjoy it as much as I would like to . I just find the whole seating arrangement thing is totally unacceptable and easily fixed and again I would not be complaining if it wasn’t for the fact that every other dimassis that I’ve been to and I’ve been to all of them in Texas is not like this. Doubt i will ever go here again. I live in new braunfels so perhaps I’ll drive to austin dimassis ..where they do care about social distancing. to reiterate this restaurant in San Antonio is not small. It’s just very poorly managed...

Location & Ambience: The restaurant is conveniently located along the I-10 frontage road in a free-standing building with a spacious, well-lit parking lot. Inside, the space is clean, inviting, and thoughtfully arranged. There are various table sizes to accommodate both small and large parties, with a reservable area for bigger groups. The chairs were especially comfortable, and the restrooms were spotless. The welcoming atmosphere and the high health inspection score (99/100) on display added to the overall positive impression.
Food: The buffet selection is extensive and caters to a variety of tastes. Items are clearly labeled, and everything is kept well-stocked. Some standout favorites from our group included the pita bread, veggie grape leaves, falafel, zatar, fatoush, tabouli, red lentil soup, seasoned potatoes, and toasted cauliflower. The grilled items, like kafta kabobs, chicken kabobs, and lamb shank, were flavorful and perfectly cooked. For dessert, the rice pudding, namoura, and baklava were the perfect sweet finish to the meal. Every dish was fresh and high-quality, making the buffet price feel justified.
Service: The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. Despite the self-service buffet format, the team ensured a seamless and pleasant experience.
Overall: While the buffet pricing might seem high at first glance, the variety and quality of the food make it a fantastic value. This was our first visit to this location, but it matched the great experiences we’ve had at their former Fredericksburg Road location. Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet is definitely a spot we’ll return...
Read moreIf you’re a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or just love a good buffet, Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet is an absolute must-visit! My husband and I stopped by for lunch today, and let me tell you—this place exceeded all expectations.
The sheer variety of dishes was impressive. I started with their selection of salads, and they did not disappoint. The Fatoush was fresh and tangy, while the Greek Salad hit all the right notes with crisp veggies and perfectly balanced dressing. The pita bread was warm and pillowy, the falafel was wonderfully crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and their hummus selection was simply outstanding. Whether it was the classic Hummus, the creamy Avocado Hummus, or the Spicy Hummus with just the right kick, each one was a winner.
For the mains, the rice was flavorful and cooked to perfection, and the Spinach with Feta was a standout with its savory, cheesy goodness. By the time I made it to the meat, I was already feeling pretty full, but I couldn’t resist trying the Chicken Kabob. While the flavor was fantastic, it was slightly on the dry side—but still enjoyable.
As for dessert, my initial reaction was mixed, but after letting the flavors mingle a bit, I came to appreciate the subtle sweetness and complexity. It’s not your typical sugary dessert, but it’s definitely worth a try.
The best part? It’s a buffet, so everything is included in the price. You can sample a little bit of everything without worrying about the cost adding up. The value for the quality and variety of food is unbeatable.
Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet is a hidden gem for Mediterranean food lovers. Whether you’re craving fresh salads, creamy hummus, hearty rice dishes, or indulgent pita and falafel, this spot has it all....
