My partner and I decided to go out for brunch for the first time in a long while since the Pandemic started. We used to go to First Watch prior to the Pandemic and it has always been great - clean location, quality of the food and drinks, quality of service. This was the first time I’ve been to this First Watch location. At first glance, they had taken precautionary measures - signs with safety reminders, masks required, social distancing reminders and stickers for steps, a plexiglass cover for the host stand, as well as distancing tables in use. The service was decent as well - our waitress following all safety procedures and wearing a mask. The food was also great; however, we came across an issue. It might not be an issue for most people, but we’ve been taking safety measures to protect ourselves and the ones we love. One of our dishes had something red and sticky on them. We considered the plates not being cleaned well. We informed the waitress and she told us that it may be due to the chef (or person who sets up the plates) touching the plate with his glove having compote on it. With everything going on, I believe any regular customer would be extra wary about something on their dish that doesn’t seem to belong. Even without the Pandemic, something like transferring compote onto another dish due to it being on the gloves (even if it was clean) shouldn’t happen because someone could have a food allergy to it. This is the reason I had to give 3 stars to this location, although we do like First Watch. Of course, our bill was taken care of but my partner lost her appetite after. During these trying times, I believe it is very important to make sure that (1) dishes are cleaned well and (2) food is not transferred to a plate it wasn’t intended for (allergy reasons). We appreciate the quick and appropriate response by the waitress and management nevertheless. Although appetizing, this was very...
Read moreCame in, and the hostess acknowledged me right away and sat me down in like 10 min. I had come by myself for brunch. While I was waiting, I was reading the stand that mentions some of the popular items on the menu, and it prompted me to look on my phone, the menu. There was a couple employees going back and forth talking about taking off bacon that someone didn't receive but they were a little aggressively speaking it caused me to look up and worry the demand this place had on the employees. I looked around at all of them, and I noticed how hard everyone is working that they all covered each other's tables and were trying so hard to please everyone. Mind you, it is also Sunday morning, probably one of the busiest days out of the week and busiest time 11am. I continued looking, and the hostess eventually sat me down in a booth next to the kitchen. I got coffee and ordered a spiked lavender lemonade & the Market Hash right away. I was served immediately. The food was mediocre. I think the potatoes taste was sort of bland. I added pepper, but it just was okay. The toast with jelly was delicious. The lemonade was good. But the food is just something I could make without spices. Needless to say, food serves the purpose of serving you. This plate was about $14 Drink $9 I left a tip. Server came around once to check on me. The table still had left over sugar wrappers next to the sugar. It's...
Read moreFirst off we checked in on their “seat ahead” app. When we arrived we checked in with the hostess who said we would get a phone call when ready. They never called us and then only when we went in to check did they say “oh your ready”. They sat us at a table in the corner of section with a, come to find out, 2 day new waitress. We tried to make it easier on her by giving our full order at once as it seemed she was over whelmed. Our appetizer came out before we even got any of our drinks, even water! The waitress who dropped it off was like “you haven’t even got your drinks yet??”. We waited 5 more minutes for our waitress to return with drinks and even then she only brought 1 cup for water. My morning meditation was 95% beet juice and 5% orange juice...gross. I had to ask the bust boy for an additional water glass and a glass of orange juice. We are now 30 mins into us sitting down and our food is probably sitting cold on the counter. What is even more frustrating is there isn’t even a manager in sight! I don’t fully blame our waitress because she brand spanking new, but this is a bit ridiculous with the restaurant being half emptied out of tables and the service...
