Please excuse my recent good review. As cliche as it sounds, I wish I could leave 0 stars. I ordered this food right before closing on Sunday and saved the rest for lunch at work Thursday, only to find this piece of a sponge in my food. I had only take a few bites off the top and not seen what was at the bottom until lunch at work on Thursday. I called and asked to speak to a manager, then they said, “yes you are speaking to a manager.” Then I explained what was going on, and he said, “okay let me get you another manager.” That’s already a sign that things have changed since we started coming here before COVID. Then the manager I spoke with told me after explaining what happened that, “it was too late and that it was probably something from my end.” I felt SO OFFENDED. Never in my life have I tried to cheat someone like that and I’ll be you know what if a place that I and my family have been so faithful to for the past what, 5+ years? WHY WHY WHY in the world would I put this in my own food and make such a a big deal about it? I already spent $45 on food to begin with. Please don’t eat here anymore. They used to be very good when they had different managers/owners, but now it’s gone down hill. Such a shame too because I love the fact that they have sushi and Chinese together. I’ll just find another place then. It’s terrible a lot of them are starting to become like this. I honestly would not have wasted this much time on this if I were to do it myself. I was at work, and so was my food. We don’t even have sponges that look like this fibers here at work or my own home. My co workers even said that the food smelled terrible when I reheated it and it just be because of that. We have come here for years, and from one visit - never again. Thanks...
Read moreOk, my wife and i were looking for a chinesse food restaurant closer to the airport and decided to give this one a try. It has a lot of parking, and i guess because of the time it was not that packed, 9pm friday night. As you come in, it looks pretty nice, kind of like a chinesse chilis, a drink bar, a tv with the news, a tv with a footbal game and another with a show, and the tables are well acomodated. It took the waiter a little bit to show up, handed the menus, we told him it was our first time there so he could recommend a plate, nothing, asks for the drinks and after 3 minutes he comes back ready to take the order. I told him to give us a couple of minutes more, as i was undecided on what plate to try. I was going to order a plate but we decided to go with the dinner for two. Waiter comes back, and we ordered the dinner for two, but wanted to make a change on the plates, and the waiter says, No, you can only change one plate !... with an attitude, my wife then says, ok, but here on the menu reads you can pay the difference, and he said no you have to get what says there, showing no empathy. My wife then orders the original plates weve decided and tells him, this is our first time here, at least you could tell us in a different way. After waiting for not too long, he brings the plates, really nice hot food, excellent taste, but when it got cold, taste kind of faded. Waiter did not showed up at the table after delivering the plates to see if we were doing fine, until i gave a loud sip to my drink so he could hear it to give me a refill, then i asked for the check. Food was good, service not so good, atmosphere is nice. Price on our plates not too expensive. Not sure if will...
Read moreI’ve given Formosa three tries, but I don’t believe I will patronize this restaurant again. Today was the final straw. We finally tried their hibachi and it was quite “mid” as the young folks would say! I was very underwhelmed! Not only by the taste of the food, but the first thing that the server/chef asked us was “ Is there a special occasion ya’ll are celebrating? Someone made parole?” Mind you we were a black family celebrating 2 birthdays! Then we had 1 child and 4 teenage boys at the table and he proceeds to tell a lewd joke! “Why doesn’t Santa Claus have any children? Because he only comes once a year!” Throughout the cooking he makes comments about what most black people are like. He made a mention of how most black people love Long Islands (really?) and how most of the black people he serves want more butter!
I did not enjoy this experience at all! But I felt like the onus was on us to laugh off his ignorance and disrespect because he was an older man from Lao. I didn’t want to go to the manager and jeopardize his job (again leaving the onus on me)!
The thing I decided to do to voice my frustration and straight shock from this disturbing and disrespectful experience was to leave this review and vow to never give this restaurant another penny of my money or support. In addition to the poor service, the food wasn’t even that good! Maybe that why “most of his black customers wanted more butter” and seasoning. Just a thought!
I wish people would just make an attempt to do better, especially if you are in the...
