I was invited to the San Antonio Petroleum Club for a local event where they were hosting a fundraiser. I've never been to this venue and found it very easy to find via Google Maps.
However, for parking, please read my comments in the parking section of this review. Up front, just know that you may want to be prepared to walk.
We arrived for our event at 5:30 pm and looked up on the reference board where the Petroleum Club was located in the building. We entered the elevator and pressed the appropriate floor number and when we got to the top floor and exited the elevator there were plenty of friendly faces to tell us where the event room was for our event. Just know that this club has dining area, happy hour area, and multiple other meeting rooms available for your venue.
Our venue had light appetizers brought in and had an open bar as well as an area for presenters, to present to their audience. Overall the service staff was fantastic, the bar area service was also good, and the event, I think, was highly successful.
I do not know if this place is open to the public for regular dining, but you can easily call and find this out. I just know if given the opportunity to return I would.
I hope that if you are able to visit this venue that your experience is...
Read moreMy wife and I attended a dinner dance this past Friday per invitation of a friend. We arrived at 630. After cocktails, we ordered dinner around 7. We did not receive the main course until around 945. It was too late for my wife to eat because of digestive issues, so she did not eat. However, they did take her meal off of the bill. My food was good, although it came out cold. Strictly a service and dinning room management issue, in my opinion. I'm assuming they are having staffing shortages like a lot of restaurants around town. Nevertheless, when my wife approached the server, he became hostile and refused to apologize for his rude behavior and the poor service. After informimg the dining room manager, even he was reluctant to apologize for the poor service and became very defensive. We were thinking about joining the Petroleum Club, but, are now having...
Read moreAs a member, I was heartbroken and disappointed in the policy and behavior implemented by GM Peter Muller. We recently held a lunch event at the Club and one of my guests was a retired Marine who requires a Service Dog. My guest was not allowed to walk through the buffet line with his dog. It is completely within the Club's right to refuse a dog through the line; however, Mr. Muller's behavior was un-empathetic and rude. I also vehemently disagree with the policy itself. Considering the great sacrifices made by our nation's military, they deserve better treatment. Service animals are not normal pets, they are required to meet rigorous levels of hygiene and behavior. While it is within the Club's right to refuse the dog and the Marine, it reflects poorly on the core values of the Petroleum club and...
