So we were hungry and just spent hours installing a car part on my car and so we decided on long gone service cuz it had been a while but didn't want to go to just some place like McDonald's like you know they hadn't been to Long John silver's on in a while so and I was craving some fish and some hush puppies and we went in and Clemens was operating and working the front counter very very nice man customer service does not exist hardly at all after the advent of COVID seemed like IQ is sharply dropped off as well and so I make a point of always letting the store know and the and Google know I'm a Google local guide whenever I receive exemplary customer service people need to know about that and so Clements was on point whatever training modules and slides you're using for your quality assurance programs keep doing what you're doing because he's got it down he knows very very good took the time to address all of our questions helped us figure out the math on to save money offered all upsells like he was supposed to even brought the food out to us came and clear our table for us I mean it was almost like you know you're in a fine dining restaurant fast food so I can't say enough about Clemens also Cassandra I have to give her a shout out as well very nice just genuine feel You know great eye contact spoke when was appropriate listen to when was appropriate pretty much convinced that she cares those two definitely so you got some great employees there please please please train up more like them and don't lose them rare quality Dane Google local guide did I enjoy most about the service just watching you know the expressions on their faces I you know I used to be the director for quality assurance and training for a major telecom call center 600C call center back in the day and also it was the director of compliance and so I always grade my my interactions with a businesses from that professional level I never use personal bias or emotion I just agreed it for what it is also was a corporate trainer for Chili's grill & barford a decade and I used to be a ghost shopper for them and so we would literally go into restaurants and and sit and just absorb the experience and then we handle our green card at the end at the end of the the service and watch their eyes fall out of their head but but it's a really good way to to get a you know a real feel undercover boss style I guess to see like what areas of opportunity not to chastise or do a windshunt but to perfect it and better the process You know we have it's a competitive industry You have to stay above the rest and what is your niche You know that's what makes you successful so I enjoyed watching them operate and just kind of like compared you know to how I used to operate in in the restaurant industry food service industry I've worked for Disneyland hotel in Newport Beach Marriott and I know a thing or two about guest services and they know they know it and their Long John silver's who knew doesn't matter what level you're in customer service is good customer service is good customer service. I have the two-piece of chicken tenders with a piece of fish and of course hush puppies and waffle fries had my own drink so I guess I'm one of those and then my my brother had pretty much the same thing and we had exactly $30 in Clements got us into $29.74 how about that That's...
Read moreI have always had a soft spot for long John Silver's and most likely won't let this example of that franchise prevent me from returning at some point, however, I can't find it in me to recommend this location to anyone I cared about. First, I get it, working in the food industry, particularly fast food, is a soul sucking nightmare. But still, the barest amount of positive interaction with your customers shouldn't be beyond even the most dead eyed, jaded fast food worker. I realize you probably hate your job, but I came for subpar chicken tenders and nostalgia, not depression and indifference. I wouldn't discribe my interaction with the cashier as negative, maybe disinterested... Possibly peevish even. Second, and honestly 80 percent of the cause of this poor review, cleanliness. I went late in the day and the dining room was completely empty. I stopped at three tables before finding one that appeared to have been wiped down recently and didn't have trash underneath the table or on the seats. And even then I had to wet a napkin and give the seats and table a quick wipe. Annoying, but if there had just been a rush I get it. After sitting my daughter started asking me about the murals on the walls and it was at this point I realized they were caked in various mystery splashes and sprays, leaving an unsightly brownish film over the images. As I ate my chicken, subpar even for LJS, and stared at the poorly maintained fountain drink area and the Jackson pollock esque smear of what I can only imagine to be a grotesque mix of soda, sauces, grease and body fluid, I found myself wondering if the state of the dining room would be an indication of the state of the kitchen. Sadly, I think we can all answer this question for ourselves. In summary, I went here expecting little and somehow...
Read moreI was a big fan of this place until my last visit! Don't know if they changed management or what but the young lady who attended me at the window was a bit rude! First she took my card for payment and took forever to return it back to me had to let her know to give me back my card! Second I asked her for vinegar, shrimp sauce, and tartar sauce, and before I could finish she interrupted me saying " it'll be in the bag with the food!" As soon as I get my food I started asking her about the sauces when she quickly handed me the bag and said the sauces are all in the bag! I get home and the fries where soggy as if they were left in the grease the fish was hard couldn't even take a bite and super dark as if it was over fried and left to dry! I was so upset that the food was terrible and that I didn't get the sauces I had tried to ask her before she would interrupt me that I threw the food in the trash! Should of taken a pic buy I don't plan on going back there anymore! I did reach out to management and they offered me a free meal which is only right after spending 20 bucks and didn't eat anything! I just don't want to go back for my free meal if I happen to pass by there and see the older ladies they used to have there I'll stop and buy something cause they were very nice and always paid attention to what...
