EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. I went for lunch with a group of 6 & asked for a separate check 1st thing. Time comes to pay the bill & the waiter runs my debit card for the entire mount of the bill for the whole group. When I pointed out his mistake I specifically asked him if he handled it as he stated he would to fix the issue if I would be billed for the amount he had already run or the correct amount of the bill that should have been run to begin with. He stated that by him voiding the debit charge I was going to be billed only for the total of my bill. This morning I while on my bank's website I noticed that the entire amount had been deducted from my account. I decided to drive to the restaurant & handle the problem in person. That process took 30 minutes of my time to sit & wait only to be handed excuses as to why they could not handle the problem at that time. The manager was supposedly on her way in & she would have to go through the paperwork I was told. I left my phone number & the manager told me they would call me soon to let me know what they'd discovered. A little more than 4 hours later I called in to find out what was going on. By this time I am upset at the lack of professional behavior as well as the disrespect shown me by blowing me off. The manager that was to handle the problem was on the phone with me & handed out nothing but more excuses. Now I'm told that the owner has to fix the problem & that won't happen until sometime late in the day tomorrow. As I'm stating my case the manager keeps talking over me & cutting me off. She's is refusing to listen to me & continually speaking over me getting louder & louder saying the exact same thing over & over. I finally yell "I'm talking to you!!" & she hangs up on me. I will absolutely go in to speak to the owner tomorrow. I will absolutely make sure the issue is fixed. I will be sure to write about this issue on every site I can find to do that so that all you are warned to check your bills, check your bank statements & be sure that you're not lied to & over-charged as I was. BTW the rest of my party paid their end of the bill that day as well so this place has been paid double for the tab & doing nothing to fix their problems except hand out lame excuses & rude, unprofessional attitudes!! Read moreToday is 04/27/2023. I have been a customer of this place for a couple of years now, I ALWAYS loved it but today was the final string. I will come after these people, not with lies about the food, the food is great and its a shame I will never have it again. I ordered my food by phone, order taken by Jimmy (remember that name). I arrived after 1, just a few minutes after placing my order. It was busy, i understand that. I know my food was ready because I heard Susan tell Jimmy "that's Ryan food" but there was some sort of mix up because there was a doordash order that was ready about the same time mine was ready, they messed up and sent both mine and the door dash order back to correct it. People kept coming in and out, and I was still standing and no one was telling me anything. Finally the door dash order was corrected and read and the guy left, I was still standing. Jimmy looked at me and said " are you waiting for a table" I said " no, I am waiting for my food from 20 minutes ago", he then snapped at me and said " when your food is ready I will bring it out to you!". There was no need for that. I have witnessed this guy, he apparently is a manager there and that's a problem. I witnessed him talk down to a black server and it was embarrassing. It seems like no one has control of this place. I always have dealt with Kristin and Joe, they are always wonderful to me and I have the most respect for them, but Jimmy and Susan, Susan by the way is the other manager that I spoke with my phone and she just laughed at me, never has anyone treated me like this and I am shocked it came from the place that I love but WILL NEVER come back to. I will make sure that Jimmy and Susan change how they treat customers. I cancelled my order, I confronted Jimmy and he just stood there, giving me the thumbs up. No customer support from these 2. Read moreI wish I had taken pictures. I want to start by saying I have NEVER written a negative review, and I hope this will be the last. Valentine’s Day I ordered 4 entrees, soup and appetizers. The total was $110.00. When I received my delivery from Grubhub I saw that one of the entrees I have ordered several times was half the size and no broccoli, they put 2 asparagus spears instead, I guess. I called to speak to the manager. After introducing myself and asking for a little of his time, he cut me off and said to get to the point. I explained the situation and also noted that this one entrée was half the size it normally was and half the size of the the other 3 entrees. He instructed me to call Grubhub. I explained it was not a delivery problem, but a kitchen problem. He refused to discuss it other than to say call Grubhub. I contacted Grubhub and they don’t fix food issues, only refunds for delivery problems. The main reason I ordered from Mencius was for Shrimp Mencius, the entree that was wrong. They also left out one order of rice, and the Triple Delight had no Beef. I had a problem with this Shrimp Mencius the last time I ordered it because it was dry, and the shrimp fried rice had no shrimp. I called when that happened. They replaced the fried rice, but wouldn’t fix the entree. So when I ordered it again ( I hesitated doing that), I asked for extra sauce on the side to make sure I wouldn’t have the same problem.
