A Taste of Home – Finally! If you’ve been wandering around the city wondering “Where on earth can I find Hyderabadi-style biryani that doesn’t taste like someone read the recipe off Wikipedia?” — stop right here. This restaurant is the answer to your food prayers. Let’s start with the ambience — calm, classy, and dressed in beautiful greens. It’s like the restaurant took a deep breath and invited nature to dinner. It felt peaceful, upscale, and inviting — perfect for a family outing or even a solo meal with your thoughts. The service? Absolutely lovely. The staff were kind, respectful, and surprisingly patient — even with toddler demands and our “just one more suggestion” feedback. They even asked us if anything could be better. When was the last time a restaurant cared about your opinion before the Yelp review? Now to the food — the real star of the evening: • The Karampodi appetizer- So good, even my toddler happily munched on it without negotiating for screen time. That’s saying something. • The Burnt Garlic Fried Rice with Chicken was packed with flavor — smoky, garlicky goodness in every bite. • The Chicken Biryani? A legit taste of Hyderabad. Not the usual saffron confusion — this one had depth, spice, and nostalgia. • And the Corn Chat Pata? My daughter’s personal favorite — sweet, tangy, and addictive. In a city where Hyderabadi-style biryani and fried rice are practically folklore, this place is a rare gem. It reminded us of home, which is no small feat. Dear management: please maintain this consistency — don’t let the magic fade into mediocrity. We’ll be back. With more appetite… and probably more people

We recently visited this newly opened Indian restaurant in San Antonio, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. As soon as we entered, one of my friends mentioned he didn’t enjoy the food, but we still thought with a buffet there should be at least a few good options. The first issue we noticed was the water served, it had visible particles in it. We had to purchase bottled water, which really shouldn’t be the case. If clean water can’t be provided, at least bottled water should be complimentary. The restaurant is new, but the AC wasn’t working, making it very uncomfortable to sit and eat, especially when being charged $20 per person for what is called a “grand buffet.” At the very least, fans should have been provided while the AC was down. Cleanliness also needs major improvement. The plates were not washed properly, and the staff did not appear professional in their dress or grooming. While the hostess was polite and even brought the owner over to hear our concerns, nothing was resolved. As for the food, I could only bring myself to have the lemon/tomato soup, which was overwhelmingly buttery. Paying $20 for just that was frustrating. The owner kept insisting the buffet is “grand” and changes every hour, but what’s the point if the food doesn’t taste good? Even the dessert, Rasmalai, was incomplete, just sweetened milk with no pieces. Overall, both food quality and service standards need serious improvement. From the taste to the atmosphere, to staff presentation, this fell very short of expectations. Sadly, I would not feel comfortable bringing friends or family here again.

The restaurant has a beautiful and modern interior — plates, cutlery, and glasses are all high quality, giving a premium dining feel. Everything looked clean and well-presented, although I did notice one fly (possibly from the door being open) and the floor could have been cleaner. Food-wise, my experience was mixed. I ordered a variety of dishes — including a richly spiced curry served with rice and garlic naan, paneer tikka with bell peppers and onions, and a dry-fried mutton dish with curry leaves. Presentation was good, but the taste didn’t quite match the visual appeal. • Spice Level: I ordered medium spice, but it was much hotter than expected — overpowering some of the other flavors. • Garlic Naan: Not prepared properly; lacked the fresh, fluffy texture I look for and was a bit uneven in seasoning. • Paneer Tikka: Nicely charred but felt slightly dry. • Mutton Dish: Flavorful but quite heavy, and the texture was on the tougher side. Overall, I appreciate the effort and the ambiance, and I may return to give it another try. However, right now I have mixed feelings due to the combination of strong heat levels, inconsistencies in preparation, and some cleanliness observations.
