Smoothie King — Restaurant in San Antonio

Came in here with my daughters and I usually go through a drive through when I order at smoothie king so this time walking in I thought you ordered with them on one side and then paid for it after where the checkout was. My mistake due to the set up of the place. I saw people walking in and standing at the end of the counter where you pick up your drinks without having placed an order so I thought that’s where you wait to be addressed to take your order. Wrong! Turns out they had already placed online orders so there I was standing there with my daughters for like ten minutes without being acknowledged. So when everyone left with their drinks I asked where exactly do we place an order in here. They told me at the register. I get how this is my mistake but nobody ever acknowledged anyone in there and I think acknowledging your customers is part of customer service. Once my order was placed someone else walked in and placed their order and my daughters received their orders first and I waited did mine. Well once my drink was placed on the counter the lady ordering after me grabbed my drink and walked out only to walk right back in and say she got the wrong drink. She apologized to me but clearly this was not her fault. These servers at this smoothie king need to be trained on acknowledging their customers and asking for a name so we know who’s drink is at the counter. They are having to throw smoothies away which I’m sure is costing this place $. I had to get my drink thrown away and wait again to have my smoothie made. Unnecessary things happening in here because of carelessness and no proper training. As far as the taste everything was good. Smoothies were great! I would have loved to place a five star for the smoothies being great and all but poor customer service is vital...

This location used to be a favorite, but lately it takes 15-20 mins to get your order. I’m sure it doesn’t help that it’s not staffed correctly. The last three visits, 5 to 7 people in line and one person behind the counter. I stopped in at 12:35 ish earlier today and 6 people standing but no one behind the counter. Called out to them..... nothing. I went to knock on the bathroom door..... nothing. I open what turned out to be the janitor closet....... nothing. Then I here this frantic scurry and out she pops up “ I’m on my way, I was taking out the garage and I’m alone!” You know how sometimes you just know when someone is lying and it’s so obvious??? I didn’t have time to wait, so I decided to see if I was right. I checked both dumpsters and they were completely empty....

THIS LITERALLY JUST HAPPENED..... so I came back to get the smoothie I tried to get earlier and as I’m sitting here at this location writing this review (20 mins btw) I notice this guy getting impatient and then my order is ready and he hops up...... “did you forget about me? I’ve been standing here for 30 mins”. This was the same lady that couldn’t be found earlier. The manager better wake up or he’s gonna start loosing customers...

Prices on the menu do not match. When asked about this the employee, Allison, not sure if real name not wearing name tag, proceeded to lie about how the app works. When I made her fully explain and show me on the terminal, I was correct and the prices were off by a dollar. No big deal, I understand this girl is not in charge and I ask for the manager name and number. I was told she could not give this out. The phone number I understand, but I was being refused even the first name of who runs this location. Highly upset that I was told by the employee that the store manager said to the employees not to give their first name, and to instead take OUR information instead. Such a joke, I don’t think I will be returning, extremely underhanded to have different prices on the menu boards and then charge everyone a different price and lie about how...
