Had lunch there today and I honestly preferred this Pho restaurant than Pho Loma. It was cheaper than Pho Loma, but the broth was perfect. Not too oily or too salty. I make pho at home and have been for most of my life. I prefer my broth to have more spices and a stronger taste of ginger. Both didn't have enough spices for me, but Pho Shop was tastier in terms of fat and sodium flavor. Restaurant wise, it's very clean and quiet unlike Pho Loma. The guys that worked at Pho Shop spoke great English and actually listened to what I was ordering. I didn't feel rushed to order like I did in Pho Loma. Out of the two places, we would come back to Pho Shop over Pho Loma's. Both places have great food, but we just like Pho Shop better. It's also cheaper than Pho Loma.
**Update: We ordered a bahn mi sandwich and it wasn't what we expected. I've had bahn mi sandwiches before and I make them at home so I know what I'm talking about. The sandwich at Pho Shop fell short to my expectation. I was hoping for more in the sandwiches. The meat had flavor...great flavor. I think there was cucumber in it but hard to tell between the pickled diakon and carrots. Wasn't much of meat, cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, or cilantro. What I was really disappointed about was the liver paste (pate`). There was none. Not even mayo. It lacked flavor besides the meat. I wouldn't order it again, but the...
Read moreI'm always looking for Vietnamese places to eat at they are hard to find/ a good one, and they are hard to find one with good service/ if I find one with really good service and I find that they are clean then I will go back to them constantly over and over again this particular place no it wasn't that way, The seating was not comfortable, I remember the food was kind of average there was only one guy working all of the tables, it was like he was the only one there, he seemed to not know what customer service is, he was definitely treating the men better than the women he comes from a country where you respect men and you don't respect women so he's brought that "brain conditioning" over here to America/ Overall I would say the experience was not that great, I might give them one more try the food was kind of below average again I don't know why people would give this place five stars and there are so many other Vietnamese restaurants around actually a new one just opened up close by and I've been ⭐going there...
Read more[3.7 Stars] A roller-coaster ride this was.. in-Bowl Presentation was nice. Tasted the broth, surprisingly really good! Then I put that "dollop" of 'hoisin&sriracha'?? umm... is it me? Or did I just MESS UP the taste of my Broth?! So now the whole meal i have that mental anguish to deal with, along with random chaotic "Whiffs" at the very interested fly.. [Pro-tip: Run a fan on low] Stay Positive ....So Noodle texture was off - but the steak was Amazing! - shoulder shrug: (go figure). I was NOT Rudely ignored for the record... I was absolutely ignored in the nicest way possible. On arrival, my pho and I had a staring contest for 4min before I broke and sought after my own utensils. Ya know, Fun! :D Also, I don't mind higher prices when the portions are proportional.. they are not in this case. No worries, tip anyway. Cup was sketchy so I was Grateful they didn't give me a straw.. The steak is good enough to bring me back, but I'm excited to try other pho places in the...
