We chose this place because it was well rated and it was an easy walk from the Hyatt before catching an Uber ride to the airport for a 10 pm departure. Our fish tacos and onion rings were good but I was turned off by the health violations I saw clearly on display in their kitchen coupled with unprofessional service. This was unfortunately after we had ordered that I saw the crew behind the counter handling all of our ready to consume meals with bare hands. When I asked the manager if they were supposed to be wearing gloves, she said, "yes they wear gloves in the kitchen" while 4 feet behind her was a cook assembling meals with bare hands. When I stood for a moment watching the prep she asked if there was something wrong. I said, "I'm sorry, but he is not wearing gloves." She rolled her eyes and turned around to ask him to put them on, which he did. (No hand washing). After I walked away I overheard the manager with another female employee mocking me in the adjacent food prep area. They did not seem to know I was watching. For these reasons alone I would not recommend this place, nor would I...

Every harbor has its local take on a counter service, no frills seafood restaurant, but Charli’s is like no other.

My friends and I came here after a bike ride, and were blown away by the service and quality of the food. I was torn between their fish tacos and fish and chips, and was convinced by the cashier to order the latter - and thank god I did! It was one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Comparable to an iteration I once had in a fishing village in Ireland. The fish was clearly fresh, the breading was light and airy, and the portion was extremely generous. After having the fish and chips, I’m sure I couldn’t have gone wrong with the fish tacos either.

I will be back for more, and to get my hands on one of their homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches. Charli’s is a...

Awesome environment right on the water. Dog, friendly patio with plenty of seating. Great spot to enjoy the sun close to the water. Can order from a QR code at the table and skip the line, which is super convenient since line can get fairly long. Great local beer selection and some other more widely knows (Modelo, Coors). Got a carne asada burrito and two fried fish tacos. Carne asada had refried beans in it and wasn’t too much to write home about, but getting a couple extra sauces on side (green) is good call to make it a good option. In hindsight probably shouldn’t have gone with the carne asada given this place is right on the water next to all the fishing charters. Fish tacos were ok. Two were Definitely enough for a meal. Another couple extra salsas and...

If you're in search of an exceptional food and great service, look no further. The shrimp tacos were an absolute explosion of flavors. Each bite was as delightful as the first, perfectly seasoned and tucked into soft tortillas. Our dining experience was further enhanced by the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, going above and beyond. They made us feel welcomed and valued, adding a warm touch to our meal. The most surprising fan was my son, who usually only eats chicken, but was absolutely taken by their hamburger. He talked about it all night. This establishment has managed to impress us all. An unforgettable dining experience that left us all satisfied and eagerly anticipating our next visit. A solid five-star rating from our family!

Currently this is my favorite fish taco in SoCal and it’s consistently good. Everything I’ve tried on the menu including the onion rings and clam chowder soup have been tasty but the fish tacos are amazing! I get the fried fish taco on corn tortillas. Fish is always fresh and crispy. Toppings always fresh. The Baja sauce is to die for. Pro-tip order an extra side of the Baja sauce. Portion size justifies the price. The service is always good. The young ladies at the register are always friendly and helpful. The view of the harbor and sportfishing fleet adds to the atmosphere. I highly recommend!
