I was so excited to try the food, it looked amazing in the photos and sounded good as well. After almost leaving because we had been waiting for 5 minutes for anyone to greet us.. the owners who were sitting in the corner the whole time, went to the back to get the server. He let us sit outside which was nice, he was friendly and he also let us know about the prices being raised from what was displayed. I was very intrigued by the Himalayan Wings and the loaded fries (I can’t remember what they were actually called) but it looked so good with potato wedges, large pieces of red onion sauce and cilantro… when the food finally came we had a little saucer with 5 plain wings and a side of ranch. I love ranch and all but this did not look like the menu photos… and there were only 5 wings… for $15!? Also the fries looked nothing like what their menu made us think… I was looking forward to the red onions and the bigger fries to be honest… I think the server could tell we were kind of shocked when he delivered our food. We asked about the Himalayan wings and what that meant and he said it’s “basically chicken fingers for kids” 🙈 As per usual loved my water with lemon, like anywhere else but I was disappointed and wished we would have waited a little longer and ate somewhere else for that price. One thing I will say is the masala sauce on the fries was really good.

I've been getting their tiki masala weekly, without fail. I haven’t seen their yelp page until now, i don’t get why their reviews are so moderate. But reading them it seems to be more service related rather than food based. This is the best tiki masala I’ve ever had. What sets Taste of Himalayas apart is their unique flavor in their Tikka Masala. It’s like crack. I’ve tried ordering it from other Indian restaurants, but none come close. I'm not sure if it's the "traditional" way, but frankly, I don't care because this is the only way I like it now. The sauce is the star of the show. It's rich, creamy, and packs a punch of flavor with every bite. I often find myself drizzling it generously over their garlic naan, turning it into what I can only describe as a Himalayan pizza. The combination of the tender chicken or paneer (depending on your preference) swimming in that decadent sauce, paired with the pillowy soft naan, is nothing short of addictive. Seriously, it's like crack for your taste buds. Each bite leaves my mouth watering for more. The balance of there sauce is perfect, not too overpowering but enough to tantalize your palate. And the naan, oh the naan, it's always perfectly cooked – fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside.

This restaurant serves really amazing Indian food. The best north Indian food I have had till now in US. The restaurant is close to the waterfront, however getting a spot to park is a bit tricky. This restaurant has indoor and porch seating options. Since it was raining, we preferred to sit inside but I’m sure on a good weather day the porch would be an ideal option to have lunch. The restaurant was quite empty when I went. We were seated immediately. The staff was really friendly. The menu has a lot of vegetarian options. Being a vegetarian, I do not get to eat momos that often. I was super excited seeing veg momos on the menu here and ordered them right away. I was really happy with the taste. The chutney served with the momos is also good. You can choose how spicy you would like your food to be. The garlic naan was soft and the paneer subzi was really good. Not too spicy and not sweet either. I had ordered the mango lassi as well. The sweetness level was perfect. You also get complimentary bowl of rice with the curry. Overall, I would visit this place again.

I've truthfully never been so disrespected and infuriated by a staff in my entire life - and at a family run establishment no less... Food was decent, albeit pricey, however I was left with a wretched taste in my mouth that still has me reeling a day after this horrible experience.

The three of us sat down to a quarter-full restaurant at 8:30pm on a Saturday. Service was slow but we didn't mind as we were enjoying conversation and our drinks. Around 9:20, we were three quarters of the way through our dinner when we started being asked every 3-4 minutes if we were done, wanted a box, etc. We thought this was odd as the restaurant is open until 10pm on Saturdays and we were clearly still in the middle of our meal. Eventually at 9:35 the waiter dropped off the check without being asked and we knew we were being rushed out the door.

At 9:50pm the waiter came up to the table and told us we needed to leave as the restaurant was closed. I still had a full beer in front of me and my friends had half a bottle of wine left. I was absolutely outraged as we had just spent $200 on a meal for three and tipped the waiter generously, and now were being prompted to chug our drinks and vacate 10 minutes before the official closing time. I asked the waiter to remove the tip off the bill as he had not just ruined the meal with this encounter, but also was pestering us nonstop for the previous 30 minutes. The restaurant manager responded by telling me he had already run the check and there was nothing he could do but would "remember my face and provide me a discount the next time I came in" (still before 10pm at this point.) After that outrageous answer, I told him I would never come back and asked him how he was planning on compensating me for a tip I did not want to pay. He responded by saying there was nothing he could do and to get out.

I have never in my life witnessed such a display of deceitfulness, disrespect, and laziness. I implore you not to visit this restaurant and truly hope this family gets out of hospitality before issuing too many more of these experiences to people looking to pay good money for good food and...

Service and friendliness of staff was excellent - food is very good. Why only a 3 out of 5 then? Husband asked for Sierra Nevada beer, unfortunately they didn't have in stock, so they recommended the Himalayan beer, which they said was similar (it wasn't - but at $7.95 it was a shrewd move on their part to recommend it) - then got a Stella ($6.95 - pricey if you ask me). I ordered chicken korma $15.95 , asked for it very mild and it was delicious - no complaints at all. Husband asked for chicken tikka marsala, $15.95, asked for it medium level spice (like a 5 out of 10) (i.e. a lot more spicy than mine) but it came at the same spice level as my korma - no spice at all, even I could eat it (and I can NEVER eat my husband's curry - they are always way too hot for me) - so we asked for them to add some spiciness/heat to it - it came back more or less the same - hardly any difference - I could still eat it easily. And I order all my curries at a level zero! Having said that, it doesn't mean it wasn't very good because it was. If I had ordered it for myself, I'd have been pleased. My husband had wanted a bit of spice and heat, didn't get it, but he still enjoyed it. Didn't really want to linger as it was very VERY cold inside (wish they would have closed the outside door to keep some warmth in - but I felt like it would have been rude of me to ask them) - service was excellent - just wish that they could have made my husband's a medium level curry instead of just mild (that's cost it one star) - and wish it wasn't so pricey (another star). $57 (excluding gratuity) for two chicken dishes, one order of naan, one order of popadums and two beers. Expensive! And $15 of that was beer. Food flavors very good. Doesn't come close though to the wonderful Himalayan Dine Inn restaurant in San Diego, which I just saw on yelp is closed - that place was...

Horrible Horrible Horrible service. As a line started behind me with only a couple of girls in front of me the host continually ignored us everytime he came up to the front. He wouldn't even look at or address us. Finally after 20 mins the ladies in front of me got his attention he gave them some rude response about not asking customers to leave while they are eating when the girls asked about how long the wait would be and tried to walk away before he addressed me and the 30 people in line behind me. I grabbed him in time and let him know we were all waiting forever to get our name on the list, I was thinking in my head I could of been grabbing a drink next door while we waited! He seemed to get the picture that a line was waiting to check in and he came back to Earth and took the names. It was like we were ghosts and not even standing in front of him for the first 25 mins of this experience. I had a Groupon or I would of left already, money already spent kept me here. I was so mad by the time we were sat I wasn't interested in their food really. We tried Veggie Momo's and they weren't as good as I was hoping. Good Garlic Cilarntro Naan. Very spicy Vindaloo and I tried a Lentil Soup which was pretty good. I won't be back, this was horrible for service and the guy we were dealing with is a total idiot! They were busy but, that's no excuse to be rude and ignore a line of hungry customers trying to give you money. We spent the Groupon and said we would never return. We'll go to their other location in Midway by us. So much better service and the food is good so that's sad...
