Birthday brunch date! The deli sandwiches we’re great! My husband ordered “the Statue of Liberty” & I ordered the “hot pastrami” both were yummy! They’re Rye bread they make for the sandwiches tasted fresh & Soft ,the meat is tender and juicy. The sides that come with sandwiches I would say are bland ,but you don’t mind it too much cause the sandwiches have a good amount of sodium. Of course they serve the sandwiches with a side pickle spear which is always nice. We also shared a stack of pancakes, they were good. Nice and fluffy and had a small crust on the edge of the flapjacks. I forgot what my niece ordered, her BF ordered the Belgian waffle and loved it! He said that was absolutely delicious. I believe he just got it plain (no toppings or fruit.) Now for drinks my nice ordered a root bear float, she liked it (standard float.) My husband ordered us the “New York Egg Cream,” no one else at the table liked it, I will say I think it’s an acquired taste. My husband described it as a carbonated chocolate Yoo-hoo. So take from that what you may. Me personally I liked the drink. Our servers were kind and did a great job of customer service. Asking if we would like refills , coming by to see how everything was going and if we needed anything else.

I had the tastiest Pastrami Reuben Sandwich here today. I loved that the high-quality pastrami was on the lean side and had great flavor, perhaps a little light on the black pepper but that's OK. Quite 'messy' so I used a knife and fork. The rye bread was buttery and crunchy too. Will definitely return here again for this treat. It wasn't a deal breaker but the cole slaw was absolutely flavorless (except for cabbage flavor) but it also wasn't sweet which is a good thing. I also could have chosen potato salad or pasta salad as a side. The staff was very professional and courteous. I found all the right Covid-19 protocols in place. There is indoor and outdoor dining available now. They're keeping their pastries in the kitchen now with just a small display out front so you can see what they have. I tried a couple tiny Prune Hamantaschen. These didn't have much flavor compared with the ones I've enjoyed in New York. I'll probably try something else next time but the five stars is for the sandwich, reasonable prices and the staff.

Good, but not great. Quite expensive for what you get. $12 for a regular size sandwich and about 1/4 cup of potato salad. The taste of the sandwich was comparable to something you could buy from a grocery store, for a lot less money. How could this be improved you might ask? How about adding some type of condiment (not taking about the package of mustard or Mayo given with the sandwich, I’m taking about making it your own!), taking the time to shred the lettuce or even shave the turkey breast. Or how about possibly adding some cheese to this overpriced sandwich? I could have made this myself at home in 2-3 minutes. The ‘size’ of the sandwich appears rather large, but that’s because they rolled a single piece of lettuce up with a few slices of turkey breast giving it the appearance of a lot of food, when really it’s just about five pieces of inexpensive cold cut turkey breast, a piece of lettuce, tomato slices and a slice of red onion.

Good service & food. My biggest problem is with so-called “russian menu” you guys have. Why would you call it “russian” if only couple of things on it can be called “russian”? You wouldn’t call pizza 🍕 - a “russian pepperoni pie”, or hamburger 🍔 - a “russian beef sandwich”..., right? 😄 So why would you categorize Borscht 🥣 as a “russian beetroot soup”, if it’s a known Ukrainian dish? Same goes for Chicken Kyiv (btw, not Kiev), that is also Ukrainian. ✅ It would be great if you could correct menu’s title (to for example “Eastern European Menu“), as well as menu items’ names. To make it easier for customers, you may definitely mention “Ukrainian, Russian & Middle Eastern food” in smaller font & parentheses. 😊 👌 Believe me, Ukrainians will really appreciate your effort & as a result you will have more clientele coming to restaurant.

Elijah’s Deli located at 7061 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111 is a very good Deli food wise, my breakfast was great! I had their Matzoh Brie and it was very solid. Onion rings were very good too. Decor wise it is extremely cold looking, not deli like whatsoever. Wouldn’t have even known I was in a deli except for the menu items. Nothing remotely Jewish looking about this place whatsoever, except again the menu does have the typical NY Deli items on it. Server Lara was great! I’ll need to try their Pastrami next time as it looks very good.
