Worst food experience I have EVER had. I was harassed by the manager and I got violently ill from the pizza!! Please read: I ordered Pesto Pizza from Giovanni's Trattoria. I was traveling to San Diego for a birthday trip. I wanted to order something quick before going out to explore the city. After eating the pizza, my boyfriend and I got extremely sick. I was vomiting in the trash can while he was vomiting in the bathroom. We didn't have anything else to eat the whole day. After an hour spent throwing up, we felt better. I am an RN, I know this was caused by the pizza I purchased. I went to the store to speak with someone because this is a public health concern for all customers. He told me that "I must have chosen the wrong pizza. You can have a slice now." He wouldn't do anything else about it. Later that day I got a call from the manager. He said "I heard you came into the store and said you got sick from my pizza. I think it was because you were drunk." I had not been drinking at all and I told him that. He continued to tell me that and I felt harassed. I hung up on him. I was never rude and tried talking to him with a level head. It was inappropriate for him to call and harass me. Also, if someone gets violently sick from food, then management needs to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSituated at Santa Fe Depot, this trattoria is a delightful and quaint establishment where you can enjoy your meal while observing the trains come and go. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of options including pizza, pasta, ravioli, calzones, pies, sandwiches, and even chicken wings. During our visit, we decided to try the Fettucine Alfredo, Chicken Alfredo, Manicotti, and some Chicken Wings. Although the preparation time was a bit lengthy, the dishes arrived fresh and piping hot. The Fettucine Alfredo consisted of a plain white sauce without any vegetables, while the Chicken Alfredo was deliciously satisfying. The Manicotti proved to be an intriguing choice and it was equally enjoyable. As for the Garlic and Parmesan Chicken Wings, they were decent but not exceptional. It's worth noting that there were other sauce options available as well. In hindsight, we realized that we should have also had the calzones or other items from the menu. One important tip to remember is to place all of your orders at once, as we discovered that each time we made an additional request, it resulted in an extra charge...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff is rude and they will only serve slices that have been sitting out all day, even when a fresh, slice pie is sitting right next to it and its 3 hours after the lunch hour rush.
They even acknowledged how disgusting their pizza is after sitting out. Their excuse was "if they did that, everyone would be asking for this or that"... I was the only one in their filthy restaurant, so I don't know how that would set a precedence.
Even when the pizza is fresh, I would never intentionally eat it. It is honestly the worst pizza I've had in San Diego (there's some pretty bad pizza here). The only way its edible is if its fresh. Their entire staff also has difficulty speaking and understanding english, so good luck not getting frustrated when ordering, especially if there's a line.
You're far better off with Na-pizza down the road in little italy or honestly anywhere else.
Conclusion, this place cares less about their customer satisfaction than they do about the quality of their food, which they also care very...
