Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in San Diego

Honestly lovely ice cream here, there's no doubts about that. Only reason I'm taking off a point is because they don't let you sample any flavors so it's a bit of a gamble.

We did want to try some of the flavors but decided to play it safe and go for what we were familiar with on knew would be a hit because it's also fairly expensive to buy so much ice cream and have it not go well together in terms of flavors.

Friends got the pistachio and one of the chocolate ice creams and they definitely love them.

Graham Central is one of our usuals and it did not disappoint! There was also a cheesecake with Oreo or something of that thought that was available that day and it really was a good one as well.

I’m honestly not even a big ice cream person, but Handel’s might’ve changed my mind. They had so many flavors to choose from—it was actually hard to decide. I ended up getting S’mores, Blue Monster, Brownie Batter, and Strawberry Cheesecake.

All of them were really good, but the S’mores was easily my favorite. It was sweet, creamy, and kind of addicting in the best way. Like, I wasn’t expecting to love it that much. The texture and flavor were spot on.

If you’re into ice cream (or even if you’re not), definitely give Handel’s a try. I’m already thinking...

You know how tasting flavors is one of the most fun parts of going to an ice cream shop? Well I hope you know exactly what you like because you can't taste anything here due to this branch's policy.

Napkins aren't given to you and can only be found inside the shop which you can't enter, so you better hope the servers are attentive enough to open the windows and hand you some.

Ice cream is ok but nothing special. Run-of-the mill flavors that you can't sample, of course.
