Nico's Taco Shop — Restaurant in San Diego

Ate here quite a few times when working in the area or going to the clinic. There is not many choices and it is the only Mexican Fast Food place within a fairly large radius, so I understand why people HAVE to come here for lunch. If it wasn't for that, I don't think they'd be in business. I think most will agree (including ALL, and I mean ALL my former work collogues) that the Prices are Steep, the Food is Not very Tasty, they use a lot of rice and lettuce or cabbage as a Filler (where there should be meat, specially shrimp), and the Food Consistency is terrible! Its a shame because its a nice location with plenty of seating and they do a good job keeping the place clean. I find it funny that Any 2 Items I order, it ALWAYS comes out to a nearly perfectly rounded $20 ($15 for your average burrito, $3 for a canned drink, plus...

Several things that can be improved about this restaurant.. for one, of all the locations in this plaza they’re the only place that only takes cash.🤔 for the price of the food I’d expect for them to be a little more friendly with the meat.. I could easily get a better bigger burrito full loaded in Chula Vista for much less and wouldn’t have to worry about going into a restaurant that only takes cash in a time when most people don’t really carry cash anymore. I just feel like this place takes full advantage of the type of customer they get in the area to charge more for less. On top of that the meat is pretty flavorless and seems like it’s been sitting around waiting to be reheated.. I don’t recommend this place. Just wanted to share what an amazing experience we had with Nico's for catering. We ordered rice, beans and salsa to go with our home made tamales for a family party and since it was nearby, Trisha offered to deliver for free. I accidentally told her the wrong day and she called me when she arrived the day before the party. I was so upset that I messed up. She said no problem and was super kind and understanding. They happily remade the food for us the next day with no extra charge. That is amazing customer service and they have earned a customer for life!
