âBreakfast for Your Brainâ â A Brilliant Start to the Day
While visiting Parakeet CafĂ© in Little Italy, I discovered their Healthy Breakfast Bowl â though Iâd call it Breakfast for Your Brain. Oatmeal, quinoa, cinnamon, walnuts, and fresh fruit (today: blueberries and strawberries). Itâs clean, nourishing, and sneakily smart â everything you want to start your day sharp. And â no added sugar. Just real, whole ingredients.
Iâve had it two days in a row now (see both pics). Paired it with a proper macchiato and a surprise sparkling water â simple and spot-on. â + đ« + đ§ = yes, please.
If youâre in the area and want something that fuels both body and mind, give this a try. Thanks to Parakeet CafĂ© for serving food that feels as good as it tastes.
*Why âBreakfast for Your Brainâ? Inspired by the work of Drs. Dean & Ayesha Sherzai (The Brain Docs) and their book The 30-Day Alzheimerâs Solution, which explores the connection between food and cognitive health: âą Oats & quinoa = steady energy + plant protein âą Berries = antioxidants for brain support âą Walnuts = plant-based omega-3s linked to memory âą Cinnamon = blood sugar balance & focus âą No added sugar = stable energy, better focus, and reduced...
Read moreParakeet Café in Little Italy is truly one of the best brunch and breakfast spots in San Diego! I recently had the chance to collaborate with them, and the experience exceeded every expectation. Connor and the entire team were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive, it felt like they genuinely cared about creating the best possible experience for every guest.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the drinks were some of the best Iâve ever had. From specialty lattes to refreshing juices, everything was crafted with so much detail and quality. The cafĂ© itself has such a warm and vibrant ambiance, making it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing meal or catch up with friends.
What stood out most was the combination of amazing food, great service, and a positive atmosphere. Parakeet CafĂ© doesnât just serve meals, it creates memorable experiences. I can confidently say this is by far my top recommendation in San Diego for anyone looking for excellent brunch...
Read moreThe food was great but Iâll never go back due to their inflexibility and how they turned my order into an embarrassing spectacle. They refused to make a wrap with tofu, avocado & potatoes inside). They wanted to start with a $14 wrap, literally delete everything inside, then add these items separately as sides. I ordered it anyway because I was with a coworker and we were running late. After I was seated, then the waitress came by and lectured me, saying this was a one-time-thing only and they canât do that again in the future. When I got back from lunch, my coworkers and I had a long discussion how crazy it was to get a lecture after spending $30 for a burrito and a cookie. The simple solution is to offer a build-your wrap or just charge me for the sides and tell the cook to put it in a wrap and not embarrass the customer. Next time Iâm in town, Iâll research other...
