Excellent and affordable Mexican food!

If you are from out of state and looking for classic San Diego Mexican, this is the perfect place to eat. The food is delicious and extremely tasty.

What I love about this place is my family has many different eating preferences and they serve something for everyone, including me who eats mostly vegan.

I’d recommend this for anyone visiting town, or looking to get a quick cheap eat.

Because the food is so good there is always a line so it makes sense to call the food in and pick it up to go. If you do so you should walk to the front of the line and let them know that you have an order called in, instead of waiting in the long line.

We had thes hung over breakfast burrito, bean and cheese burrito, the California burrito, carne asada burrito, as well as the carnitas fries, and the soy chorizo chimichanga!

This 5 star review is purely based on their California burrito and salsas (red and green). Their burrito is one of the best burritos I've had. My partner lived in the area for 5+ years and ordered from this place basically almost every week and introduced it to me. Inevitably, I became a Don Carlos fan. Their California burrito is wrapped in a soft tortilla wrap and stuffed with cheese and juicy, small bite sized beef and other complimentary ingredients. Their salsas are freshly made and are full of flavour and spice. The staff are also very friendly. We rarely dine in as we lived nearby, but the ambiance of the place is like every other mom-and-pop-shops, not the fanciest, but got a family owned...

This place really got the burrito right! I got the California burrito because of the reviews and it is really spectacular. The two salsas were great. Both are hot.

The burrito is huge and a good mix of texture and flavor, not dry, and I think the potato portion of the filling is French fries which works well. It's much better than that sounds. I live in El Paso, Texas and this compares well to the best local food there.

The place is very small, with two tables and mostly takeout. It is decorated with a sense of humor. I really don't understand any criticism in the reviews. I just love it although I was planning to get seafood tonight. I will go out of my way to...
