At "Pure at the Park" as this spot is referred to on their Instagram is a fantastic place. I love coming here, enjoying some really outstanding beers. And during Covid times, they are adhering to social distancing protocols. You can only be seated outside and they partnered with Urbn Pizza to stay open to the public. You can order a pizza, a salad, or chicken wings. It's required to have food on your bill in order to have beers. There's generally a wait to get in since there's limited outside spots. So put your name down, they take down your number and give you a text or call when a spot opens up. So take a walk around Balboa Park while waiting. Then they ask if you have any Covid symptoms, take your temperature (on your forehead from a temp gun), and ask you to put some hand sanitizer (which they have for customers) and then take you to your seat. You use your smart phone to scan the QR code to look at the food menu as well as the beer list. Then go inside with your mask on properly to place your order. Only time you don't have your mask on is when you are seated at your spot. Pure Project has a variety of beers and the staff can explain any of the beers to you. Chris, Brooke, Kira, Sarah, and Cheyna are some of my favorites that work there. They are always so friendly and give great beer recommendations if needed. Pure Project's second location is much more spacious than the first location in the Miramar area. This is a tasting room (as they don't brew at this location). Parking can be difficult, just have to drive around and find street parking. There is no...
Read moreThis is a great spot, I actually thought it was some healthy smoothie place but after a visit it was a restaurant with beer. I had the pizza here and it was phenomenal. I got the margarita pizza I think and added pepperoni. I was surprised that it was only $1 more for the pepperoni add on. I would definitely come back here for the pizza. I feel like it can be hard to find a good pizza place in San Diego and this place is probably one of my favorites. They have a wide selection of beers here. I did a taster and with all due respect I wasn’t too impressed. I’m not like a huge beer connoisseur by any means but I’ve been to places before where I’ve basically liked everything I tried. It was nothing against them because when I looked around there were people drinking all sorts of variations that I could see. I did find one I liked, cloud mountain I believe it was called and it was really pretty good. Staff is really nice and knowledgeable here. Also there is quite a lot of room in general for seating so if you need a good spot I would definitely check this place out. They don’t have mixed drinks or cocktails. Thanks for a great experience. I’ll be...
Read morePure Project is such a vibe for delicious beers across a wide spectrum. I didn't think a place in SD would have such rich and decadent stouts on tap, especially in the summer, but they had several and each was very solid and well rounded. They also had some expectedly delicious pales, IPAs, and sours. We loved their basic margherita pizza from their bietgarten across the street, including my four year old, who has discerning and capricious taste. It's a kid tolerant establishment but not exactly kid friendly (I'd totally prefer to come here without kids), but thankfully our two little ones weren't too stir crazy while we spent our time here. We purchased some of our favorites from the fridge on our way out and have been slowly savoring them back home in Northern California. There are so many places for craft beer in San Diego but I'd definitely return to Pure Project on our...
