If you know anything about me, you are well aware of how much I absolutely hate getting my hair cut. I prefer my hair long and I feel like no one gets it right and cuts off too much or doesn’t understand what I’m asking for. I still have to get my hair cut, though, to clean up the dead ends. I was previously traveling to Orange County from SD because I hadn’t found anyone in SD yet, so I gave ARCS a shot simply because their (previous) location was walking distance from my house. I have never looked back. I landed in Mace’s godly hands and I am thrilled and relieved after three decades I have finally found my dedicated hairdresser.

The ARCS salon itself was amazing and I’m bummed they’re no longer in that location, but I understand it was too big of a space and I’m excited for them at their new location.

My favorite part about the ARCS experience is the hair wash. Unlike normal salons, ARCS has a beautiful, serene, spa-like space where they thoroughly wash and massage your scalp and even throw in a nice neck/shoulder massage too. It is absolutely heavenly. So heavenly, I sought a similar experience via a head spa in another city. Unfortunately this head spa experience was disastrous and they quite literally destroyed my hair. I wish I were joking or even exaggerating :(

…. In comes Mace’s heavenly self to the rescue. I immediately went to the ARCS website to book an appointment with Mace, but her first availability wasn’t for another 17 days. I reached out to Mace directly, however it was on a Sunday (her day off). Nonetheless, she replied, and this angel on earth offered to stay late on Thursday, just for me. Those four days could not come soon enough. I didn’t have much hope or expectation fully anticipated that she would have to chop off most of my hair. Bless her soul, an hour and twenty minutes later, she successfully untangled the rock of matted hair on my head and didn’t even have to touch a pair of scissors.

I can’t rave enough about Mace - she’s incredibly talented and super sweet. I highly recommend ARCS generally and an appointment with Mace...

Worst experience I have ever had in a salon. First off, I was misquoted the price, so I wasn't expecting it to be as expensive as it was. Second, Austin is the one who did my hair. After reading the reviews about him, I thought he would be fantastic. Wrong. The first thing out of his mouth was, "If you don't do what I tell you and buy the products I recommend, this won't work." Strike 1. "Most of the products are under $20." Wrong. He wanted me to buy at least 3 or 4 products, but I could only afford one, and it was $28. Strike 2. Then, I heard all about the shampoo room and how I would be massaged for at least 15 or 20 minutes and I would leave tingling. Wrong. He was multi-tasking while he was shampooing me, leaving to do other things while I just sat there. The ladies to the left and right of me were getting massaged and massaged, and I didn't even have a total of one minute massage, which I need desperately, because I have had 14 major head injuries and my neck is half-broken. And there was no lift on the chair for my legs, and I have kidney stones in both kidneys, and my legs just hung there, making it extremely painful and uncomfortable. Strike 3. Then he only did highlighting, which still left a huge brown beanie on top of my head. Strike 4. Then he said he needed to see me every 6 weeks. Strike 5. I can only afford to pay $300 for hair every 3 months. I wouldn't go back to that salon if they gave me free...

If I could leave 10 stars out of 5 I would! I had the BEST experience here with Stevie I already booked my next visit! She is so knowledgeable on hair, especially blonde hair, and keeping/fixing hair health! I came in today traumatized from the past place I had gone with awful looking hair and extremely damaged. I really wanted to put more focus on getting my hair healthy and I knew this salon was the place to go for that with how well trained and educated everyone here is. I was realistic with my goals and didn’t care how many sessions it would take to get there to maintain the integrity of my hair, I just really needed to find someone who knew what they were doing when it comes to blonde hair. She’s SO amazing at blonde hair care I never had someone not need/rely on a toner to achieve the correct color. I’m so happy with my results it’s more than I was ever expected for round one she definitely went above and beyond to turn my hair coloring experience back to completely amazing! Also like to note she was so friendly and kind and people like her are hard to find! I’m so happy with my results and even happier I found someone who is so great that I’m 100% confident going to her for life! This is one of the best salons in SD in my opinion and she’s definitely the best hair stylist I’ve ever had....
