We're visiting from Sacramento for a wedding and wound up here for breakfast. I saw B- Rad's Breakfast on the menu and couldn't resist. 50 strips of bacon and a Coors Light, lol. We were seated outside because all of the indoor seating was full. When the dish arrived, several people came over to take a photo because the mountain of pork is so impressive. Unfortunately, it started raining on us immediately after the food arrived. Folks were yelling for us to, "Save the bacon!" We were sitting in the rain trying to save the bacon when a local named Shay (apologies if i misspelled that, bro) came out of the restaurant and said he found a table for us. It turns out a group of locals were sitting at a table having drinks. They saw us struggling and decided to stand so we could have a dry place to eat. They were all so kind and sweet. Amazingly, B-Rad himself was in this group of locals and was cool enough to take a photo with me. We had a great time. I can't recommend this place enough. Winner, winner, bacon dinner!

As the sign says the oldest establishment in San Diego and having now gone there twice already I can see why/how it has survived. The staff is absolutely outstanding and I was first served by Taylor while seated along the bar. I watched as she consistently introduced herself and ask the patrons what their names were and then go about calling them by name for the remainder of the evening. You just do see this stuff everyday and it completed the atmosphere. Yes. It's rather ironic that the name is the Waterfront when that is exactly what it is not. I do suspect that long ago, prior to massive development you must have been able to see the bay from the establishment but those days, unfortunately are long ago. I plan on making this a regular stopping place whenever I am in town and suspect I will continue to be pleased and welcomed.

This is a great local bar. My husband and I wandered in here looking for somewhere low key to hang out on our anniversary. The service was great, and the food was delicious. I ordered a grilled mahi taco, and my husband ordered the bacon blue cheese burger. We both loved our food, and my husband is kind of picky about his burgers, but his was really good. We were both thrilled that they had had several pinball machines. We had a lot of fun playing. The icing in the cake was when my husband asked the bartender for a special shot to celebrate our anniversary and he came with a shot with a sparkler and garnished with cookies and whipped cream. It was very sweet, and we both really enjoyed our time

Alright so this is a review coming from a ̶b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶ frugal native SD adult. I've eaten at quite a few bars throughout all of SD county and have been a visitor of Waterfront since they installed pinball machines, which have since been removed.

Always loved the vibe inside, never once ate there. Today I had the ultimate breakfast burrito and dude. It was absolutely red hot fire. I cannot stand a breakfast burrito that has terrible/uneven ingredient distribution, letalone too much of one thing. Most places are guilty of too much potato. But Waterfront? Yo. Every bite, bliss. Every bite, crispy, deep fried to perfection tater tots. Breakfast meats. No skimping. And the honey sauce. Dude I used the whole thing. You know how many crappy sauces Ive thrown away? A ton.Holy shart. I am a certified justified hater. But waterfront has it down.

This was just order one.

Because I am a degenerate sack of responsibility, I stayed here drinking with my bro til 630(got here at 145pm). I placed an order for the Jalapeno Cheeseburger with tater tots to go. I didnt even have to ask them to double fry the tots. They know. They just know. Crisped to perfection. I havent even reached the burger yet. And that damn chipotle mayo sauce? Gtfo. Crushed it.

Then comes the burger. Listen it aint In-N-Out. But man. Its close. Real Close. Like, 1 cm away close. It was genuinely a well rounded burger. Ground beef didnt taste old or crappy, bun was perfect, cheese and jalapenos were so good. Really, it was a great burger.

If this is what the food quality is like on a random Tuesday in November, aint no way it could get worse. Solid portions, delicious food. Hats off to...

Unapologetic and boldly RACIST. I went into this restaurant at 9:39pm on a night when they closed at 10pm. After the checking the hostess stand (which was empty) and waiting for someone to come over, I walked to the bar. As I went to the bar, and elder White couple walked in and sat themselves without being stopped.

While standing at the bar, I’m tried to get the attention of both bartenders. The man closest to me looked at me and walked in the complete opposite direction as I was trying to talk to him. He never greeted me, nor did he acknowledge my presence.

I proceeded to walk to the end of the bar where I saw three servers. When I began to ask him to be seated, he offered to help since there was no hostess at the host stand. Before he could even begin to ask the bartender to call the host, the same bartender who openly ignored me immediately said the restaurant wasn’t seating any more tables. The waiter sounded surprised. When I asked a second server behind the bar, “wait, you’re done seating tables with 20 minutes til closing?” she repeated that I could not be seated.

Keep in mind, 1) the same bartender who ear hustle enough to shut down the waiter who was trying to be helpful pretended he couldn’t see me when I motioned and called out to him (directly in front of his face). 2) the White couple who walked in after me sat themselves, was not asked to leave and was served.

I was the only Black person in the restaurant. This establishment should be ashamed of the bold anti-Black racism that it allows and...

Editing based on Reply: I'm changing this from 1 star to 5 until we get a chance to return and give it another shot - because I understand that life happens and I do appreciate the review response.

When we initially visited, the response to ordering food that I got was simply that the kitchen "isn't open" and I was a bit hangry after verifying hours, telling my wife we'd get 'some of the best burgers in town' and making her walk a half mile... only to still be hungry.

The bar was pretty busy (I heard some foo order like 9 old fashioned for a group right before this and it was also an SD vs LA game day), so I could understand that there may not have been time to explain the situation to a burger-loving fella such as myself.

I'm sorry to hear that there were kitchen issues and we shall return to rock some burgers once confirming that they are back on the menu.

Prior Review Text: Bummed to have traveled for food (I remembered the burgers being good here), but the kitchen is apparently not open until 1am, as noted on menu and online. It was closed at 8pm on a Saturday. Not sure if it being a Padres Game day...
