Puerto La Boca is a very tasty Argentinian restaurant located in Little Italy. The restaurant has a nice bar area where you can wait if a table isn't open. There is indoor and patio seating available. We made a reservation and went for dinner. The hospitality is amazing. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and well-versed with what to order on the menu. Our table was a little wobbly so our waiter immediately fixed it with us making a request. The provoleta was fantastic. The cheese and tomato complimented one another perfectly. I could have eaten this and walked away happy. The corn and cheese empanada was awfully good as well. I never had this combo in an empanada before but I was surprised with how much I like it. The churrasco was cooked perfectly. I ordered it medium rare and it was fantastic. The flavors were great and adding chimichurri made the flavor even better. The Argentinian fries were good as well but you must like garlic. If you don't I would avoid them at all costs. The people I were with ordered the pasta dishes and raved about them. The pasta is made fresh daily and you could tell. Parking could be an issue. We didn't drive but I didn't see much readily available. Expect to spend $30-$50 per person depending on how aggressive you get. We ordered lots of appetizers and dessert as well. I will definitely return to this place the next time I visit San Diego.

What a super find ... while in San Diego choosing an Argentine restaurant in the Little Italy section of town. I always yearned to try Argentine food and Puerto La Boca did not disappoint. My wife and I chose to sit outside. The traffic noise was negligible. However the true San Diego experience of hearing arriving and departing jet aircraft from the airpot was an added touch we were not prepared for. It seemed like you could just reach out and touch them. The frequency of aircraft was about every two minutes. Our waiter, Ricky, welcomed us and recommended a wine selection ... an Argentine Malbec, one varietal that I have had only a few times, preferring other California and Washington varietals. The wine did not have a large mouth feel and was not as lush as advertised, but still very good and relaxed the experience of low flying aircraft. Ricky recommended their simple lettuce, tomato and onion salad, with an entree of Entrana, their signature skirt steak, with chimichuri on the side. This was accompanied with a side of garlic and parsely seasoned fries. My steak, arrived as ordered, perfectly grilled to medium rare. All food was hot from the kitchen. The service was exemplary. I recommend Puerto La Boca for a true taste of Argentine food.

Atmosphere - Like most places in san diego now, pretty much everything is outside, which is lovely with the weather right now. It was dark enough to be cozy but not hard to see (city lights kept everything visible). The only sorta downfall of being outside is that you are like 3 feet from the cars, but given the circumstances its the best of a bad situation. Service - very friendly service, knowledgeable about the menu. but for me the best part was that they actually spoke spanish. As a cuban i value very much being able to speak my native language when dining at an argentinian restaurant, yes they also spoke english but I was pleasntly surpised to see that my server was actually argentinian. Food- The provoleta I had was delicious, I have never has it with a thick cut tomato before but it was yet another pleasant surprise. Of course being an argentinian restaurant I had to have steak, the entraña was as delicious a cut of meat as I could ask for. I am glad i didnt get the currasco as i think that too much of a good thing could be bad. Also the chimichurri was delicious. Overall - i'm sure argentinians would debate on the authenticity of the food, i cannot do that as a cuban but i can unequivocally state that everything was delicious.

World-Class Dining and Warm Hospitality

First Impressions We visited Puerto La Boca a while back and still talk about it like it was yesterday. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance, the aroma, and the warm welcome told us we were in for something extraordinary.

Atmosphere & Vibe Puerto La Boca strikes that rare balance between vibrant and cozy. It’s upscale without being stuffy, welcoming for both big groups and intimate dinners. Family-friendly yet sophisticated. Truly the best of both worlds.

What I Tried We dove headfirst into the Argentinean experience: expertly cooked steaks, perfectly balanced sides, and an incredible selection of wines to complement every bite. Every dish was a masterpiece, layered with flavor and prepared with obvious care. The staff guided us seamlessly through the menu, making spot-on recommendations that took the meal from great to unforgettable.

Service & Experience The service at Puerto La Boca was exceptional. They were not only highly attentive but also wonderfully accommodating with our children, which made the night even more special. Their knowledge of the food and wine was next-level, and their genuine hospitality turned an excellent meal into a truly memorable evening.

Pro Tips or Heads-Up Trust the staff when it comes to ordering, they know their menu inside and out and will guide you to the perfect pairings. Also, while it’s family-friendly, it’s equally perfect for a romantic date night, so bring whoever you want to impress.

Final Verdict Puerto La Boca is, without a doubt, a San Diego must-try. From the phenomenal food to the first-class service, it delivers an experience that’s unforgettable in the best possible way. Already planning a return visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place! I purchased a Groupon and couldn't wait to get in and try this type of food. The ambiance is quiet and romantic on the inside and all the wait staff is authentic w accent and all. Very polite, very attentive and to start with they bring a tray of fresh baked bread, Chimmicurri sauce, marinated olives, and olive butter. That is hard to stop eating! The Chimmicurri sauce is so good and strong with garlic flavor. This sauce was good on the bread, good on the meat, good on everything! We ordered 3 Empanadas, a beef, a ham and cheese and a corn and cheese. They were all delicious but the best by far the beef. Nice and flaky crust with deliciously seasoned filling inside! We also ordered the Filete De Tomate Al Roquefort which was amazing!!! The cheese on top was so creamy and good and the tomato over the spring mix with a yummy vinaigrette! It was good for two to share pre meal! Then we decided to stay within the Groupon amount and share the Entrana, wow was this a flavorful steak!! I thought this was one of the best tasting versions of this cut I've ever had! It had a great grill taste and wonderful marinade to the meat I couldn't get enough! They were even nice enough to split the portion onto two separate plates I never expected that! It was so nice and the entire time they were right on top of service. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Argentinian food or a even just a great steak!! Can't wait to...

Went there on a Sunday with the wife and kids for late lunch a couple of months ago and felt I needed to write this review when we cooked some Argentinean Parilla at the house with sausages and morcilla from Andres Latin Market along with steaks. Seated immediately since we went during off-peak time so it wasn't busy which is even more disturbing Food is good but I think a bit overpriced. Customer service is lacking a bit. Waiter could be better with his attitude. We ordered the Parilla for 2 plus a couple kid's meals. Meat cooked right (med) maybe a bit over. Be careful because it will keep cooking on the Parilla, sausage was overcooked, fries were warm at best (aka cold). Server never came back. We had to call on the busser and tell him that the fries were cold. Server came back and all they did was throw the same fries in the fryer! How cheap is this place when you cheap out on fries. I called the server out on it and he immediately understood what i was saying which makes me think he knew the kitchen was doing exactly that. I used to work in restaurants for 9 years so I know and that's the vibe I got. Nothing done to "make it up." We literally had more interaction with the busser than the server. We saw him for a total of 4 times (order, food delivery, cold fries, check). Pretty UNSAT if you ask me. This is was our 3rd time going and it is our LAST. Every time we went there was some sort of issue. Go somewhere else. Lots of options in...
