The food is great. The customer service needs improvement. I live in the neighborhood and ordered pickup a few times. Tonight,

I got the notification I that my order was ready and hopped in the car to go pick it up. When I got to pickup window the person working the register started acting strange, called for help, then clearly asked the kitchen to start making my food. They have a beautiful open kitchen, there's no hiding...

The person then never returned to the pick up window clearly embarrassed about something which I assume was due to forgetting the order or giving it to another customer... But eventually someone else came to help the pickup window and said that it would be "just a few minutes" but I confirmed with them that they had actually just started to make/remake the order.

Just tell me you made a mistake. Tell me it will be 10-15 minutes because something happened and I don't mind. However, avoiding telling the customer the reality of the situation is just frustrating and stringing me along with "just a few minutes" is annoying. Especially because before a giants game the area is very busy and my car was idling in passenger loading.

Great food. Disappointing service. Clear mistake and no offer to...

I don't like leaving 1 star reviews, but this place left me no choice.

We arrived around 8:10pm, almost an hour before closing, but staff was already shutting down and made us feel unwelcome. No greeting, just a greasy sign telling us to order through a QR code instead of the empty counter with the big menu.

The tables were greasy, fruit flies everywhere, and the whole place felt dirty. The worst part: I watched an employee bring in outdoor trash bins, then immediately pour my beer and my wife's wine without washing her hands. Completely unsanitary.

When our food came (wings and pizza), it was dropped on the table with no plates, utensils, or napkins. We were then told everything is self-serve--after being forced to tip before receiving any service.

Dirty restaurant, dirty bathroom, dirty service. For nearly $100, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up tomorrow with explosive diarrhea after this experience. Do yourself a favor and spend your...

I have wanted to try Flour & Water forever but we always end up at Tony's. Today we stayed in our neighborhood, Mission Rock, and gave F&W a go. There wasn't a line (being 2pm) and we were greeted by a friendly face. We always try a pepperoni first as a classic comparison to other pizzerias. Our order to go was text to us in under 10mins and we picked it up from the same smiling face. All the goodies like parm, oregano, chilis and chili oil were clean and full. Grabbed some napkins and off we went to McCovey Cove to devour this little beauty in the shade of trees. I'm really glad to find a great pizza next to us so we don't have to scoot to North Beach for Tony's or GB. And a $23 pie easily fed both of us....not to shabby for SF prices with...

October 2025: Just wanted to add a comment on the pizza slices that F+W sells (which seems like a Detroit style). The slices are a much thicker crust. We tried the red sauce and the seasonal special. I definitely prefer the thin crust pizza. Would not want the thick slices. July 2025: Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed the Conrad pizza and the chop salad 🥗. The pizza had mushrooms, kale, taleggio, mozzarella, red onion and roasted garlic 🧄. Was very tasty. My first time eating their pizza and I really liked the crust! Chop salad was delicious. I'd come back again for the salad 😀. Dressing was a creamy Italian dressing that I wish I could make at home 🏠. Great new addition to the neighborhood.
