I seriously LOVE this place! They make the most delicious breakfast sandwiches and they have a nice variety of freshly baked pastries for reasonable prices. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better chai latte, too (either hot OR iced - both are amazing) Just get there before 2pm - ya ain't got all day! 😋 UPDATE: Two Years Later Still delicious! This place is an OG place. It has been here for god knows how long. If you’re coming to SF and want to support a mom&pop/ family owned banh mi place, you come here. It is a classic banh mi style. My husband got the chicken and I got the tofu. I highly recommend trying this place. Just like any sandwich, you can add or edit it, so just let the owner know if you don’t like something on it.

What a good little spot! It was empty when we stopped in, but the woman working there was super friendly and welcoming. I got a ham, egg, and cheese croissant, my partner got some sausage and egg empanadas and a donut, and we both enjoyed some Vietnamese iced coffee - everything was delicious and well-priced, and it came out lightning fast. I'd happily visit again!

busy counter service cafe serving a lot of to go and stay items. I had a breakfast croissant sandwich and coffee. The hard working solo staff member efficiently made orders for an unending stream of customers. She was quite amazing at deftly getting things done. A few tables allowed for a dine in experience. No Table Service. I resisted the donuts but I am sure if they were as good as my sandwich this would be a dangerous place to have near my home. For the row of hotels on this street, this is a handy spot for sandwiches...

We stayed at The Signature San Francisco and wanted some pastries for breakfast, so we set off walking and came across Caffe Moda. I am so glad we did! Everything we got was amazing. The apple fritter and the ham and cheese croissants were to die for. I love this place! The lady behind the counter was working her butt off but still managed to give great service. I would love to eat here...
