On edit - The price although high matched the quality and expectations and then some. Regarding the bread, love sandwiches that can easily hold their contents as this does and what's better is the contents doesn't bulge out after each bite which is telling of the tenderness of the meat and contents of the wich.
Holy cow Bay Area. What a sandwich! Let me start by saying I’m the cheapest son of a kiwi there is but it was love at first bite when I had my Alison pastrami and corned beef sandwich complete with waffle fries and the homemade pickles. That French bread was a blanket of delicious love that melted between your teeth as easily as the moist severely tender pastrami and corned beef. The slaw was subtle in it’s flavor and texture similar to the cheese but together with a few bites of the homemade pickle (need a little acid to balance the meat and fat) makes one believe in the Gods of sandwiches. Oh yes folks, I’m a believer with an empty savings account with no regrets. Sandwiches range between $19-$22+ with waffle fries coming in at $11+. These fries are absolutely worth their asking price. Fresh, you don’t taste the oil, seasoned delicately with a very smart fry sauce that reminds you of the most delicious potato salad. Yes folks the fry sauce is a potato salad without a potato. The fry is the potato. Given the expense of our meal I’d normally be weeping and whaling and gnashing my teeth, instead my mouth was pummeled with incredible taste, texture and flavor bombs all wrapped in a...

The Boca sandwich is the prime example of what sandwiches should be: a generous portion of delicious corned beef pastrami and brisket, held together by warm, aromatic French bread and an addicting Board Sauce (much like the Dirty Sauce at Ike's). Each bite packs a wallop of flavor that renders you speechless for a minute or two. Add in some spicy peppers or the habanero hot sauce, and you'll have yourself one of the best sandwiches that SF has to offer.
The BG is also incredible -- filled with their tender brisket, cheddar cheese, spicy peppers, and the Board Sauce. Due to the peppers, this one definitely brings some heat, and the flavors mesh together perfectly. Get this if you're not as much of a corned beef fan, and you'd like to stick to traditional brisket.
Yes, the sandwiches are a bit pricey at around $11 each, but the quality of the ingredients, the size of the sandwiches, and the explosive power of the flavors make it one hell of a deal.
Think of Deli Board like a mature adult version of Ike's Place. Ike's is colorful and fun -- delicious flavors, but the ingredients are just good enough to get by. Deli Board adds in freshness and quality to the mix, while still being incredibly delicious. When all is said and done, Deli Board is just plainly...
Read moreMy coworker was going to get a sandwich from here and asked if I wanted to tag along. How can I say no to a sandwich? (Cue in appropriate Joey Tribbiani GIF).
They have a lot of sandwiches to choose from, or you can customize your own. I wasn't feeling particularly creative, so I went for the Fatty Matty because tuna salad, falafel, and hummus sounded good.
It was love at first bite! I would never thought that tuna salad, falafel, and hummus would be good together. Oh, but they do! And I added some of their stadium mustard for a little kick. And the French roll was the perfect type of bread for the soft texture of this sandwich.
I really like the vibe of the restaurant, especially the music they play on vinyl. And the employees are enthusiastic and really friendly. When my coworker and I came in, she was surprised there was no line. But after we ordered, a huge line formed behind us. I like to think we brought them in ;)
But I'm pretty sure their delicious sandwiches is what really drew them in. I'm definitely coming back to try more off their...
