In order to be more specific I am editing my review to clarify that the women who work at Happy Donuts are easily the most friendly, helpful and obliging in all of Noe Valley. Standard donut shop fare is available here. The difference between this place and most of the other local donut shops is their made in-house donuts. Made fresh daily from 12:30a.m. untill 5a.m. French crullers, Apple Fritters, Bear Claws, Croissants (that don't have the consistency of a bread roll which is a problem that persists in this country) and all the rest of the old-fashioned type, cake, raised, glazed, powdered, sprinkled and jelly or custard filled dunkers . Very good coffee. And any one of the ladies behind the counter will make you a fresh English muffin breakfast sandwich, a croissant turkey breast sandwich, or tuna salad on a bagel. Made when you order it and with the utmost care. There is a large variety of menu items that can be ordered fresh, custom and delicious! I have been frequenting this establishment for over 20 years. They have never failed to welcome me and help to quell my craving for a warm, yummy late-night or early-morning snack. No matter what hour of the day or, night expect to be greeted with a welcoming smile. If you are in the neighborhood it is worth stopping in to try any of their offerings. The best time to go for a dozen donuts is last thing at night after drinks or first thing in the morning when trying to get a good jump on the day. Which of those two times it is happening to be is just an issue of perspective. Those two instances...
Read moreI litterally have spent entire days and nights here. I highly reccomend their breakfast bagel sandwiches(bacon/egg/cheese), mango smoothies, hot chocolate, old fashioned donuts, and their French roast coffee is fine by me. I haven’t been anytime in the last year but the staff are generally nice, I was a regular middle school through high school I no longer live in the area, but I really do miss it. They have an atm as it is a cash only facility. They are open 24/7 I have only ever seen them closed when they remodeled and updated the space and I was not a happy camper. They’re bathroom is generally clean, you do have to ask for a key tho. I’m not sure if it’s open now tho due to Covid. But anytime your in Noe Valley deffinetly stop by and enjoy a donut...
Read moreI was out with a couple of friends and decided to grab a quick treat early one morning. I had ordered an eclair with the custard filling in it, and was handed a soggy, limp lump in a paper sack. After taking a bite, it was clear that It had not been fully cooked and informed the lady behind the counter if who assured me that it was just the custard filling as she flung it into the trash and went about fiddling with things. After requesting a refund or replacement, she handed me the amount of the eclair (less the tax of course) from the drawer and went into the back. Despite the poor service and uncooked food, they did have a clean bathroom and we did enjoy "find the misspelled words on the menu board." We found 3. How many...
