The server named Milton made the entire experience awful. As I walked in, I saw a sign that said “please wait to be seated”. Then a guy comes near the cash register area and doesn’t even acknowledge that there were new customers that are standing by the entrance waiting to be seated. His back is towards us. So, I called out for his attention as it looked like there was only him working, so I said do we have to seat ourselves? Then he just points to sign and I have no idea what that means. He then ignores me. This lady then comes from the back and seats us where I tell her about the rude interaction with Milton. Milton now end up being our server. The chicken tenders were over fried and basically burnt. The steak was ok. Portion size was too little, I left there hungry. We then ask for the bill and I go up to pay where Milton is cashing us out. I pay the exact amount of the check and I told him the I’m not tipping him because of the attitude that he had earlier. This man doesn’t say sorry or to hear my point, no customer service skills obviously. We then start talking loud discussing why he had attitude and he said that I had attitude and when I ask him how, he doesn’t answer my question. He said that he told me to wait to be seated. This man with his earmuffs on did not utter any words to me when I initially entered the restaurant. We were a party of two and the other guest with me can confirm his attitude. Anyway, at this time we are literally rowing in front of other customers in the whole restaurant. The other lady working came to the cash register and said sorry again on behalf of Milton. We are very disappointed only in town for a few days after flying from an international destination, we were just needed food, but did not expect to also get attitude and no customer service on our first interaction with SFO people. Milton should get better training or just be let go if he continues to fight with customers in the manner that he did. Milton picture attached. Avoid any interaction with him...
Read moreThis IHOP is lying to customers & the IRS to avoid paying tax on their actual profits. They only accept cash payment, they've been lying for more than 4 months telling customers the machine is broken or the internet isn't connecting - the lie changes from day to day - but it's all to force customers to pay cash so there's no electronic record of what they actually receive when reporting their profits to the IRS - illegal & a disgusting smear on the name of IHOP!!! They don't even tell you upfront, they wait for you to get comfortable, read the menu & decide what you want before they hit you with the lie, so you're more likely to go ahead with it & not walk out. It's downright manipulative. I usually love IHOP, I look forward to eating at this one every time I'm in San Francisco but their deceitful practices are unacceptable. IHOP know what's going on & they're doing nothing about it - the link they want you to copy & paste into a browser doesn't actually work!! It comes up with an error message saying they're having trouble with that page & to click into their usual website page, where they ask you to refill all the information over again! Is this entire company defunct?? UPDATE: I've tracked down the owner, Karen Jo Miles & it's clear the reason her staff are behaving so badly is because she is a terrible leader. She wasn't interested that her staff are lying to customers about the machine being down, she wasn't interested in the other reviews for 3 months also stating her staff are asking for "cash only", she wasn't interested in the many reviews about bad customer service. She was unprofessional & had no desire to use the opportunity to sort out her staff issues & improve her business. I understand why the place is empty so often, customers just don't support businesses that take...
Read moreWORST IHOP EVER!
To start, I had waited 10 minutes before I was approached by my waitress, an Asian lady with the letter M.
Placed my normal IHOP order of the T-Bone steak and eggs. Followed by changing the pancakes to waffle and an orange juice. I have made this order countless times and many other IHOP across the USA without any issues, not sure why I could NOT make the change of pancake to waffle here?
I was told I can change the pancake to hash brown, so I did, as I did not feel like eating pancakes.
Then came the exciting part, not only did the steak came out cold (not even warm), but the hash brown was burnt on the bottom.
I could understand if there were a lot of other tables and the kitchen need to rush out orders due to back lot of tickets. But when I was there, there were about 5 other tables at most in the restaurant.
Being a Chef as well, there should not be any excuses for the kitchen to EVER serve burnt food, especially if somebody has to pay for it.
Needless to say, I will never come back to IHOP again and hope owners of this place seriously review the operations...
