EDIT: They finally redid the front and now the line makes sense!! This makes me so happy because this place seriously has some of the best ice cream in the world and now when I go I won’t have to get all annoyed by people cutting in line and stuff! 5 stars yay!
Old Review: Lush is one of my favorite places to get gelato in the city, maybe even the whole world but I am always so frustrated by the layout of the store or at least the way the line is handled. It gets busy like any spot that’s worthwhile, and that’s fine. But what’s not fine is the lack of any sensible way to wrangle people into a clear, serviceable line. I’m sure it would make the experience better for customers and employees. Im sick of trying to get a scoop only to have some huge family cut me in line because the layout makes no sense at all. I don’t know how to fix the line situation and I literally have no other complaints about this place it’s just such a frustrating thing to encounter every time I go. Until people get some common sense not having some markers on the floor or a sign suggesting how people organize getting ice cream here is more of a chore than a treat and that...
Read moreGreat ice cream. Poor service. . . . . Not sure how to respond to your comment below. We were there yesterday evening with two kids. The group behind us basically started to order while your staff was helping us with the tasting. We were still doing the tasting and the staff decided to ignore our group and start to serve the group behind us. It was not even their turn yet and it was very rude of the customers and your staff.
Our group waited inline and didn’t do that kind of behavior to the group before us. We have kids in the group so basically your staff just showed them a bad example and behavior to the kids. Your ice cream is great but your staff’s manner was bad. If he would have asked us if he could help the party after us first while we were deciding, I would totally be fine with that. Or even better if your staff told the party behind us to wait for their turn.
Hopefully your staff can improve on...
Read moreLush Gelato replace Gelateria Naia, a place that I have been going since they first open it's door. I'm giving thanks to them for always capping my gelato to the max leaving little to no air pocket. Now with Lush taking over, it don't seem like a big loss. I mean you'll still be able to get gelato just under a different name. If you want gelato made from scratch in small batches, then this is the place you'll want to be for gelato while in NB. Things to get excited about is their double display case filled with over forty flavors on any given day, more seating, and two-way entry/exit. Today I got a double scoop of stracciatella and green tea. As always, it was soft and pasty with consistent blend, and chock full of flavors. All of a sudden, I feel very lucky to live by the Polk St location and one within minutes from office in...
