The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, but the service is slow and they take quite a long time to bring out the next dish. I always check the restrooms before dining, and unfortunately, the floor was dirty, which made it clear that a deep cleaning is not done regularly.

They offer a good variety of sushi, but the prices are high compared to the portion sizes. The rolls are cut very thin, and when we asked how many pieces were in each roll, the waitress repeatedly said, “This is a sushi place,” instead of giving us a clear answer — which felt dismissive and unprofessional.

What made the experience worse was that the waitress was rude and even argued with us because we did not leave a 30% tip, which felt very inappropriate.

Although the food tasted fine, I left still feeling hungry after spending about $90 per person on just two rolls. This feels like the kind of restaurant you visit once, mostly because the prices are too high for what you get and the service does not make you...

it's really really small, and very unorganized. My husband had to stand outside because 2 people got hurt with the door when opening, the door occupies 1/ 3rd of the waiting area. I was shoulder to shoulder with other people waiting for almost 10 mins for someone to address anybody. Finally a lady came and took the ones with reservation. After a while she came back ended up seating ppl who got there after me who did NOT have a reservations. She didn't come back to tell me how long till be seated. There's no waiting list or a host or how to keep track of reservations. Very very unorganized, after 20mins we ended up leaving. I'm not saying for ppl not to go, I'm sure food is good unfortunately didn't get to try it, but I'd say it's better to make a reservation to avoid all this,if you are hungry you don't want to go through this. Hopefully one day I can go back to try their food, have a better experience and write a...

The service and quality of food totally hinges on your relationship with the sushi chefs. If you're a regular you get treated like a king. Kinda ass-backwards considering you'd want to impress your customer thoroughly the first time to get them to return, but no complaints here since I fall in the patron category. Okoze is like a prude catholic girl -- she'll eventually give up the goodies.

On my last trip, one of the chefs unexpectedly brought out a LIVE red snapper from the back. I wasn't sure if he was planning to slap me silly for a comment I made about his younger sister, but within a split second he chopped off the head of the flopping fish. In a few moments, he served up the best sashimi I've ever had. You don't get fresher than that. Good things come to those who are patient, so as I said before spend some time lubricating the...

Incredible takeout options at okoze!! Theyve been in business for 18 years and it SHOWS. I got the chirashi which is at the top of the photo - LOOK AT HOW FAT THOSE SLICES OF FISH ARE. For the first time, i actually found myself wanting more rice - there was so much FRESH FISH!! It also comes with seaweed salad which this one was really good i think they put sesame oil and add a bit of heat to it. The other dish we got was the kanpachi volcano, the jalapenos were a great touch. Go support local!!!

Surprised by the high rating. Sushi was average at best and nowhere near worth $90 per person. None of the nigiri (blue fin tuna, amaebi, kanpachi, hotate) stood out - except the tamago, which was decent, as were the age dashi tofu and fried amaebi heads. Rolls were forgettable and overpriced at $27 each. The restaurant had a strong fishy smell, which didn’t help. Maybe passable for a casual weekday dinner if you live nearby, but absolutely not worth a detour. I won’t be returning. Casual attire.

A wonderful evening at Okoze with Jason, doing a vast taster session for us organised by some amazing friends. Some of the freshest ingredients I’ve ever tasted! From crab, to tuna, to prawn, to scallop, to wagyu, to pickled plum and a wild array in between this was a fantastic evening and wonderful meal. A special shout out to the prawn tempura we started with, so crunchy but so light! Plus the wagyu that melted like butter! Highly recommend a visit to Okoze for truly beautiful and tasty food.
