The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, but the service is slow and they take quite a long time to bring out the next dish. I always check the restrooms before dining, and unfortunately, the floor was dirty, which made it clear that a deep cleaning is not done regularly.
They offer a good variety of sushi, but the prices are high compared to the portion sizes. The rolls are cut very thin, and when we asked how many pieces were in each roll, the waitress repeatedly said, “This is a sushi place,” instead of giving us a clear answer — which felt dismissive and unprofessional.
What made the experience worse was that the waitress was rude and even argued with us because we did not leave a 30% tip, which felt very inappropriate.
Although the food tasted fine, I left still feeling hungry after spending about $90 per person on just two rolls. This feels like the kind of restaurant you visit once, mostly because the prices are too high for what you get and the service does not make you...
Read moreit's really really small, and very unorganized. My husband had to stand outside because 2 people got hurt with the door when opening, the door occupies 1/ 3rd of the waiting area. I was shoulder to shoulder with other people waiting for almost 10 mins for someone to address anybody. Finally a lady came and took the ones with reservation. After a while she came back ended up seating ppl who got there after me who did NOT have a reservations. She didn't come back to tell me how long till be seated. There's no waiting list or a host or how to keep track of reservations. Very very unorganized, after 20mins we ended up leaving. I'm not saying for ppl not to go, I'm sure food is good unfortunately didn't get to try it, but I'd say it's better to make a reservation to avoid all this,if you are hungry you don't want to go through this. Hopefully one day I can go back to try their food, have a better experience and write a...
Read moreThe service and quality of food totally hinges on your relationship with the sushi chefs. If you're a regular you get treated like a king. Kinda ass-backwards considering you'd want to impress your customer thoroughly the first time to get them to return, but no complaints here since I fall in the patron category. Okoze is like a prude catholic girl -- she'll eventually give up the goodies.
On my last trip, one of the chefs unexpectedly brought out a LIVE red snapper from the back. I wasn't sure if he was planning to slap me silly for a comment I made about his younger sister, but within a split second he chopped off the head of the flopping fish. In a few moments, he served up the best sashimi I've ever had. You don't get fresher than that. Good things come to those who are patient, so as I said before spend some time lubricating the...
