This review will be removed or edited when the manager finally addresses our issue and stops dodging our calls. Beware of unethical business practices and zero customer support to follow from both Travelodge and Wyndham. Beware that this place charges $20/day for parking and that is stated nowhere until you arrive to check in, which is where we became frustrated and felt ripped off.
Before booking, we looked at this location on the Wyndham site and it does not state there is a parking fee. We booked directly through the hotel and were still not told about the parking fee. We arrived early in the day to leave our car and start our adventure in SF before check-in time. The front desk gave us a temporary parking pass for the afternoon, but still to this point nobody made us aware there was a $20 parking fee and it is not even posted at the check in desk. Later in the day when we went to check in is when we were told about the fee. We would have chosen to stay elsewhere, but our credit card had already been charged for the room. We asked to speak the manager, but "Balmore" was conveniently "out of town."
It's one thing to charge for parking when you inform your guests there is a parking fee, but no where along the way did anyone tell us we would have to pay a fee until check in time when our room had already been charged to our card. We made many attempts to get a parking refund. We left a message the front desk for Balmore to contact us. He never did. We called Wyndham who told us Balmore has 10 days to resolve the issue directly before they step in. The next day the front desk told us they refunded $20 of our $60 parking fees...uh, where is the rest? 10 days passed and we never heard from Balmore, despite leaving 2 more messages at the front desk. We called Wyndham back and they have done nothing to resolve our issue. We have called Balmore several times and he's conveniently never at the property nor does he return any calls or emails, he has only contacted Wyndham once through this process and gave them false information about the fee being posted at the desk. We have been left with no choice but to dispute this with Visa and post these reviews to warn other guests of the hotel's shady practices. His $20/day is apparently more important to him than his guest experience and his integrity. This dishonest practice is unacceptable and we will continue calling the hotel and Wyndham until we get a refund for this ridiculous charge. Balmore claims that the parking fee is clearly posted at check in, but the sign just states "Pass must be visible".
Also, of you value your life, be sure to look at the lamp and alarm cords, we discovered that two of ours had exposed wires....
Read moreEverything was going okay, room and hotel was nothing special. Everything was clean and tidy. On the last night of me staying there, I had to get my debit card from my wallet before I went to sleep and when I went to put it back, I couldn’t find it. I didn’t think anything of it though, and figured I would just find it the next day when we had to leave. However, on the next day I still couldn’t find it. I looked under the bed and had my family look as well and there was nothing under there. We left the room about twenty minutes before the final check out time (11 am) to look in the car incase I left it in there. Still no luck. We rushed back into the room to find the bed sheets all over the floor with the cleaning lady inside the room despite us not even checking out yet and there still being a lot of time left before it was too late. I looked around everywhere in the room with still no luck, until I found my wallet under the bed which it wasn’t before. When I opened my wallet, all my money ($100 bill) was gone and the only thing in there was my ID. I immediately freaked out in my head because I can’t afford to lose $100, but I kept calm and gave the benefit of the doubt that the money was somehow left in one of my pockets in my pants in my suitcase. When i got home it STILL wasn’t anywhere to be found. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but i’m 90% sure that my wallet was caught between the bedsheets which is why I couldn’t find it and when the cleaning lady ripped all the sheets off she found my wallet, took my money, and then left the wallet under the bed. I really don’t want to think the worst possible scenario, but that’s ALL I can think happened. There’s absolutely no way I left the money out of my pocket and it fell anywhere else. I keep my money as safe as I can because I can’t afford to lose even a dime, and the fact it’s completely missing from my wallet?? I would never take it out from there. I guess it’s partially my fault for not thoroughly checking the sheets before I left and making sure I had it before I went to bed, but when my family pays money for a room I expect my stuff to be safe and untouched which completely didn’t happen. I suggest to anyone who’s thinking about coming here to go somewhere else, or make sure all your valuables are safely hidden in your suitcase because clearly they aren’t safe in a room...
Read moreThe manager and front desk clerk are very unprofessional and lack basic customer service skills. The 1st issue was that my debit card didn't have a chip in it. The front desk clerk called her manager and was told her to tell me to go to the bank and get cash. The 2nd issue was that the security deposit jumped from $20 a day to $100 now that I'm paying cash. I told the front desk clerk "ok I'll be back with cash". So after getting caught in rush hour traffic for 30 minutes I return. I give her $100. Parking is an additional $25 (which I was aware of). I asked wouldn't the parking come out of the security deposit? She looked confused. The 3rd issue was that when I came back she told me that she didn't have change. They don't accept cash! Im like "are you serious? You just told me to get cash! She called the manager back and let me talk to him. He was saying some nonsense that its a San Francisco law that all debit cards must have a chip. (Which I find odd sense I was using the same card all over San Francisco earlier.) And if that was the case you should communicate that with your guests. Before I booked I called to find out the security deposit price and parking price. He could of told me then the "chip policy". He then called me again at 3 to inform me that the office will close at 11pm. He again could of mentioned the chil policy again. So after all this the clerk says she canceled my reservation...Why?? its pre paid (through Expedia). She couldn't give me an explanation. The manager start to tell me he should of canceled the reservation from the beginning. All because I was told to get cash now all of a sudden you don't accept cash. So finally she checks me in without taking a security deposit charges me for parking ($25) now she doesn't have change! Wow. She tells me to walk to the corner store, "I'm not doing that" your business should have change. I gave her $30. So she then tells me she'll have the change tomorrow morning. Ok fine. So the next morning at 7:15am I'm trying to check out, nobodys in the office. So we left.. "You keep the 5 dollars and maybe you can use that in customer service training!" I will be contacting Wyndham and Expedia regarding this terrible experience! I do not recommend this place to...
